Pete Buttigieg was on a recent Jon Stewart and made the observation: "What is the point of having a conversation with someone with whom you agree?" Clearly, he was not talking about chit-chat over the back fence, but this exactly why it was important for the NABJ to do it. It was not an endorsement, but a chance for him to strut his nonsense before an audience that he claimed to be courting. If that is his idea of courting, no wonder he's been divorced three times and has to resort to paying for it or taking it outright.
It was DJT at his bully worst, cowardly picking on someone he knew could not fight back, all the more so because it was a minority and a woman. In his warped mind he must feel like whatever votes he loses in the Black community will be more than made up for by the number of Deplorables he motivates to both cast their vote for him and keep tithing discretionary income to his personal defense funds.
Don't we all have an inner wish that if he pulled that schlock on a male of any size, he would walk right up to DJT, get right in his face, and push for a throwdown right then and there to prove manhood? It's exactly what President Toddler needs in order to see that there are bigger badasses out there, quite ready for a piece of him to see if he's willing and able to back up his bluster.
Sorry to say that “throw down” will only occur between POTUS # 45 surrogates vs Harris surrogates, if at all. The Orange god-king has made the following calculus, and we’re going to find out whether it is correct or not; He believes there are more deluded, frightened, bigoted and outright misogynist &/or racist voters (in six or seven states) in this country than there are remaining sane, decent & honorable voters that also remain committed to liberal, constitutional democracy. In this calculus he has factored in how many voters are actually tickled and amused by his antics. Whatever you or I think of this calculus, it’s going to be very close. Lastly, in his calculus, close may very well be good enough. I reside in AZ, where 2024 primary results dislodged each and every Republican that stood up for the election results in 2020 & 2022 whom were replaced on the 2024 ticket with election deniers. Many of those indicted on election fraud charges for their role as “fake electors” in 2020 have been designated as “electors” for the upcoming elections. This scenario has been duplicated in several ‘battleground states” across the country. If the race is tight, and POTUS # 45 loses, they will refuse to certify the results. We are in for a very rough ride, unless there is a veritable Harris landslide, which is highly doubtful.
Last- if you’re an election denier, and you win a county or state election, even a primary, wouldn’t you have to refuse what you just won on the basis of your belief that said election was “rigged”? Just asking for a frenemy…..
Trump is always at his most obnoxious with women journalists, particularly this of color. But I think a woman who simply won’t stop attacking him could be every bit as effective as the male you describe. I would love to see Trump in a debate with Pete Buttigieg. Trump would be used to wipe the floor.
This is correct. I understand why he was asked although there is a big part of me that dislikes the horse race race both sideism that the media wants desperately to report no matter what group displays it.

I have Tim's usual reply echoing in my head, "Ok, Ive heard enough". I can't wait to hear his next rant!

Kinda hard, though, to have a conversation with yourself....
This is exactly right.
