It amazes me that someone as smart as Amanda doesn't connect the dots between that norm-breaking action (whether it was in "the rules" or not) and where we are now.

Is she all that smart? Anyone who can say “the potential government takeover with healthcare” with a straight face and not have any self-reflection on it doesn’t seem so smart to me. She’s one of the few people Tim has on who are not my cup of tea (party).
Perhaps I am blind to when we "didn't follow the rules" but if the McConnell move wasn't enough, then we had Tea Party antics that continued, then 4 years (seemed longer than that) of Trump - yet it felt like we still thought it was more important to follow Marquess of Queensbury Rules than to win. I thought we learned about that to finally beat the British in the 1780's.

Remember after all she did work for DeMint and Cruz.
Thank you all - I was feeling super guilty and petulant. Nice to have some affirmation even if I wish I didn't need it.
The thing that really chafes me is that once the norms were violated, the Democrats just kept following them!
You don't tie your hands behind your back when the other guy shows you he came to a gunfight.
You're preaching to the choir, my man. And all the worrying about "what the Republicans will say so it doesn't matter what we do."
They won't have a lot to say if we punch them in the mouth enough times. They keep bullying us because we take it.
