Just read the review after watching Tar this pm. Sonny is correct that calling it an anti cancel culture movie is a bad take. Cate Blanchett did a spot on (but somewhat parody-like) imitation of a famous classical musician, down to the mid-Atlantic accent. I must say in real life, the punishments would not have been as severe, just look at Placido Domingo is still being booked everywhere in continental Europe.
Between Tar and The Banshees of Inisherin, I'm really beginning to really resent living in a town with on multiplex that mostly shows Marvel Movies. The closest screening of Tar is an hour away and I can't even find a showing of Banshees?
I'm in a college town of 30,000 about 80 minutes from a midsized city, so I'm a little surprised how hard it is see some of these movies. I mean Tar isn't exactly indie is it? It looks like Kate Blanchett is doing the Talk show circuit and Colin Firth is Colin Firth. Do I just live in a cultural wasteland or is the distribution of these "artier" films changing, because I remember catching In Bruges when I was at college in a similarly sized town.

Thanks for the tip and info on Night of the Living Dead!
NLD is a classic.. plus I grew up in the Pittsburgh area and there is a lot of local connection there. I watched "Chilly Billy" Cardille growing up.
Plus I was at California U of PA when they filmed some variation on it and had friends that got cast as zombies.
Amen. BTW both Athena and Bros. discussions were 1st rate. Thanks.
