I watched The Hunt during the first two weeks or so of the pandemic. It turns out that it was not the ideal time for me to watch it. I had been wanting to give it a second look and this seemed like as good of a prompt as any.
It’s a solid B movie/political commentary! It doesn’t take itself too seriously but isn’t lazy when it comes to action scenes or the performances.
And yes to Betty Gilpin. She would have been great as Captain Marvel had Glow come out a few years earlier.
That last fight is so well done. And Gilpin is legitimately great. It was nice to see her in THE TOMORROW WAR but she wasn’t given very much to do in it.
The self own from The Hunt is similar to what people had to say about The Lego Movie when it premiered - "oh it makes businesses out to be evil!" - and reminds me of some folks in the homeschooling movement who legitimately did not like Star Trek because "they worship crystals" (laughable especially because they're all atheists).

Yeah, people almost always make a mistake when they judge art without having seen it!
