In one of the Amy Shumer movies, she asks John Cena to talk dirty to her in an intimate scene. He tries. "Baby, first I'm gonna get out my vitamix. You know what I'm gonna do then? I'm gonna spank some protein powder into that beautiful vitamix, I'm gonna make sure it reaches the 10oz line. Oh yeah baby. And then I'm gonna get some cold fresh strawberries...."
This is DiSantis! They want tough talk? I'll give them tough talk. "We're gonna slit throats." He seems to miss the mark on everything, and creepy awkward to boot.
"Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.” Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?” Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains."
Anyone else see the articles on Comer, the ass spewing the garbage about Hunter and how he had proof (maybe) about Hunter and Joe, the ass who had a f* committee with their star witness who would prove all of them. The F* POS didn't even attend his own meeting!!!! (You know, since Trump, I'm using language I didn't use in 70 of my 71 years!) And he's still spewing the same garbage on Fox!
regarding Guilliani's name on Monuments, etc....His name is on a flagstone at my neighborhood park; as he was Mayor while it was being revamped. He had NOTHING to do with the park being repaired. He just happened to be our worst mayor. A repugnant racist.
He may be a bit more useful in months to come. He's not quite as fired up to bash Trump at any public chance as Christie but he looks like he's going to do it. Still, last night when K Collins pushed on whether he would support Trump if it came down to Trump/Biden he waffled.
Mona quotes Ramaswamy saying: “the left calls January 6 a threat to ‘our democracy,’ but the ultimate threat is when politically unaccountable actors literally remove democratically elected officials from office.”
Which "unaccountable actors" does he think are "literally" removing democratically elected officials from office?
We have a constitutional impeachment process by which elected officials can remove other officials from office.
We have constitutionally established courts of law that adjudicate charges of criminal behavior -- which can be brought against officials while they are in office, except for presidents.
Is he suggesting that courts of law are not democratically legitimate insofar as judges and juries are not elected - and therefore are "unaccountable"?
He seems to be reciting the Trumpite concept of "accountability," in which Trump, having been "duly elected,' was therefore fully "accountable," and nothing he did thereafter could properly be held in judgment by anyone else, including other institutions of government. But when the electorate chose to deny him another term, Trumpites rebelled against democratic accountability.
Now, people like Vivek seem to be suggesting that holding Trump accountable in a court of law is tantamount to "unaccountable actors" blocking him from an office that he is entitled to hold (regardless of what the voters say).
It's really quite cynical to wave around the high-minded concept of "accountability" in defense of someone who so clearly scorns any rule or principle that might contravene his will.-- and as an attack on the very institutions that are designed to hold people accountable.
And this is where a real jounalist would ask a follow-up question. "Governor, you've said on day 1 you'll start "slitting throats" in the federal government. Can you give some examples of the types of federal employees who deserve to have their throats slit?"
When the 9/11 families whose activism forced the creation of the 9/11 Commission brought basic facts in front of the American punditry, our journalists mocked and marginalized them, even though the families knew far more about the deaths of their loved ones than anyone else. Our journalists seemed instead to be hungry for war and all the excitement that comes along with covering war. Whatever their motivations, our journalists were not honest with us about the 9/11 attacks, and the resulting chaos wrought by our media's conscious disinformation campaign has poisoned everything else for twenty two years. Likely aware of the truth, it's little wonder Giuliani slowly went out of his mind.
I don't have time today to check if this point has been made yet. Regarding Sarah, she is knowingly lying also. Trump is not indicted for his speech or beliefs. He is indicted for his actions and only his actions. His beliefs are irrelevant. Another reason I am not renewing my Dispatch subscription.
I worked in NYC till the end of 2021. Giuliani caved into the police and transit unions on contracts and really did not give a shit about non-whites. And he wanted all the credit, hence his pushing Bratton out when the press gave him credit. The cops loved him of course.
"Giuliani railed against how Jewish people “want to go through that freaking Passover all the time” and how they should “get over the Passover” because it was 3,000 years ago. “OK, the Red Sea parted,” the transcript reads. “Big deal. Not the first time that happened.”"

So some Jewish rabble-rouser was crucified by the Roman overlords for sedition. "The Christ was crucified for this... the Christ was crucified for that," This happened 2000 years ago so the Christians should just get over it. OK, someone was executed for political/religious reasons. Big deal. Not the first time that happened.
IDK if you are misinterpreting my post or if I am misunderstanding your reply. My post was not intended to be a screed against Christianity. It is meant as a direct slam of Giuliani, and the ignorant antisemitism he professes in the quote.
I don't have a problem with (most) Christians, nor for that matter against anyone who lives within their faith (again, with some exceptions like the so-called Evangelicals who think that the Apricot Arthropod is the Second Coming). As for where I personally stand on organized religion, to paraphrase Groucho Marx: I would never join a Church that would have me as a parishioner.
As I said, I have no problems with people of any faith, with the caveat I failed to add before in that they actually practice what they preach. In my own case I call myself an agnostic seeking gnosis.
We are on the same page regarding Giuliani. I look forward the seeing his face when Ms Willis and a few other local and state attorneys general hold him accountable for the bovine scat he so eagerly spread. But the frosting on the cake will be his expression when he realizes, should the Apricot Arthropod get reelected [turns head, spits three times between index and middle fingers] there will be no forthcoming pardons since POTUS can't interfere with state convictions.
(FWIW, I met his most recent ex many times back in the '80s. and early '90s I've wondered what took her so long to kick his ass to the curb.)

RE: "Cheap Shots, How’s that reset going?"
DeSantis, the "Headless Hunter" is going to start slitting throats on day one? Takes one disembodied cranium to know another, I guess.

Sounds like a job for Kim Wehle!

DeSantis comment: First day in office, claims he will begin “slitting throats”? What is that about?
Vicious attitude? Little guy better have his white boots on!

Can some please tell me what anti anti Trump is?
Ah. I thought it meant they were really really anti Trump. I get it now.
I feel that Trump will appeal every charge to the supreme court. That's where the buck stops. Trump will go free.
I suspect that, on many counts, he will be found not guilty, but he's been indicted on so many charges ... at least some will hit.
🤮

Even though it has been said over and over, it is still amazing just how far Rudy has fallen. From America’s mayor to a complete embarrassment.
