I think they could say any president in contempt of a unanimous ruling by the supreme court temporarily removes his pardon power till the court conditions are met
Point taken regarding fines, but I think the important thing is to force the issue. If they're going to ignore the courts and actually violate the law they need to do it sooner rather than later so that everyone is on the same page in their understanding, including SCOTUS.
Re detaining the lawyers, I believe court bailiffs- not federal marshals- can enforce contempt rulings and penalties and at least some federal courts have places to detain violators until fines are paid or they cooperate, so you're not reliant on DOJ for enforcement. It focuses the mind and the optics are not good for the government. Of course Trump can pardon the lawyers, but that too is instructive for the public in terms of what we all face if this continues.
I think one risk for countries that grant Asylum to American refugees is that they'd be open to retaliation from the Trump administration. Of course you'd be insane to attack countries who would take people you find to be troublemakers off of you but with the President's insane thrist for revenge he might demand that countries commit the crime of Refoulement.
Some of my EU friends are starting to discuss if and how many American refugees they could take in.
As a German, it is maddening to watch the US sleepwalk into a dictatorship. All that talk "we are on the path to ..."
People!
You ARE already living in a fascist country! Nobody dares to travel to the US anymore unless they really really really have to. We've been there. We recognize it. We spent the last 80 years living in shame for what Germany did. And yes, we have some idiots who think we need to do that again, but the vast majority is vehemently against it. Take to the streets. Millions of you. Stop this madness before it's too late (it may already be too late).
I think the Canadians are clear eyed and rational. They see what is going on, and it might be a case by case basis, but they have no reason to doubt him given the last 3 months.
Our relationship with Bukele, yet one more Latin American right-wing thug, is precisely what we should avoid in order to create more functional societies south of our southern border. He needs to be disappeared, which could happen as it did with Noriega when he failed to satisfy his northern supporters.
Maybe yes; maybe no. I have friends in Canada that said I could come and visit if "things" got bad. I feel scared but willing to fight, I feel somewhere down the line something will happen to our leader and maybe "HE" will finally start realizing that the more "HE" deports the worse it will become here. Less people to govern, though, could mean he would have more time to laze and golf.
Now that we know what Trump and Bukele will/have done, there are few options left. It’s a pretty short walk from deporting a legal immigrant to a foreign prison to a US citizen suffering the same fate. Whites Christian males may have a bit better luck, but not if trump’s rhetoric attacking the likes of Adam Schiff and the like are any indication. I don’t see any good outcome from this situation. Please tell me I am wrong.
This is truly alarming. Write or call your elected reps and demand that they take a vocal, on-the-record, stand. This is un-American, and frightening. It could literally happen to anyone.

Boycott El Salvador and any products imported from there.
Thank you.
Chris Krebs should announce candidacy for POTUS, seeking GOP nomination for 2028 election.

Appeal to a higher body? International Criminal Court?
Cruelty is the point.
Option 3 it is. And Roberts is a sniveling coward and Trump and Bukele are venal fascists.
