I just had an epiphany--the Rs are cozying up to Menendez and supporting him so that he will switch parties!

Talking ain’t doing. That’s why Hutchinson, the Ukrainians and Liz Cheney make the Maga elites (misnomer) so uncomfortable, because looking into the face of real courage shatters the lie they get from watching Vin Diesel and Stallone. The difference is one is real world and the other fantasy. Maga elites (there it is again) can’t embody true courage, so there only hope is to try to reduce the best among us so they can seem a little braver in comparison.

"the judge has already ordered the complete dissolution of the fabled Trump Organization–the tycoon’s pride and joy, the empire that made him famous and elevated him into the White House. The Trump Organization and its sister companies will be sent into receivership to be under the control of a court-appointed officer." https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/9/26/2195648/-New-York-judge-strips-Trump-of-his-real-estate-empire-finds-he-indeed-committed-fraud

Speaking of crooks: "New York Times BREAKING NEWS Donald Trump fraudulently inflated the value of his assets, a New York judge determined, in a major victory for the state’s attorney general." Get ready for the hysterics!

What stands out to me is Cassidy Hutchinson’s level of responsibility, given her age and status. It illustrates how unserious and disingenuous the Trump team was. Fortunately, for the country, the admin got something right by bringing her on.

Are there some overzealous lefty public school teachers? Sure. Are there a "large contingent of educators" who want to "teach their students to become activists?" Heck no! I teach HS science in a public school in rural Ga; mostly we're trying to get our students to sit down and listen to us, and maybe learn something useful along the way. We have a hard time covering all of the content, never mind anything else.

How on Earth can we have any hope for the future of the Republic, at all?

"Now they are shamed by the shining example of a 26 year-old woman with her life ahead of her, with no motive but love of country, and no power except that which comes from a clear conscience." Simply beautiful.

Nothing compelled her to testify in public, on TV, thus incurring the wrath of the MAGA mob. If her chief motive had been saving herself, she would not have done so.

Also, when she decided that she wanted to dump the Trump-world lawyer, she didn't have another one already lined up, and she couldn't afford to pay for one herself.

i think Cassidy is a big heroine, and all the rest are the unfortunate garbage that we elect because the

voters are seduced by media and others who know nothing about politics. I'm hopeful that at some point the voters will grow up and throw these idiots out of Office.

Great quote from Mona Charron, I saved it thanks Mona.

The Democrats should kick Menendez out of the caucus to draw a clear contrast. "Very serious allegations, and he should resign. If he refuses, we will not caucus with him until and unless he is cleared at trial. The Republicans have no such qualms about corruption, so he should go caucus with them.".

Sorry, Mr Sykes, but the Rs know no shame and have no decency. That’s the cultural problem.

RE: Texas Podcast

Overall it was great, but I was screaming at my radio when no one pushed back on Brett Stephens' claim that "no one other than Trump" would have been charged for the crime of paying off a porn star.

Someone might want to give a Michael Cohen a call and see what he thinks about that.

Talk about memory holing...

I think Menendez (as far as keeping his Senate seat goes) is toast. As it should be.

Despite the overwhelming evidence, I won't prejudge his guilt, but he needs to go now so Dems can get someone else in that incumbency for 24.

RE: Spiro Agn...er...I mean Bob Menendez & Reaction form the Ds

Poor old Al Franken never realized that getting caught on film making an old school misogynistic-esque gesture toward a sleeping woman was a hanging offense with summary execution attached, as opposed to the misdemeanor of getting caught with wads of all but certainly ill-gotten cash stuffed in the pockets of one's wardrobe or a couple of bars of gold bullion with traceable serial numbers in the pantry drawer, or wherever it actually was that Gold Bar Bob stashed them. But of course, it's no more than reasonable to keep a half-mil or so on hand just lying around one's digs, just in case of an emergency, as Bob now says was the purpose of his little stash. You just never know when you might need to get a plumber to come fix your pipes on a weekend.

Probably should have gone for the dough instead of the laughs, Al. But hey, like, hindsight and all that, right?

Just want to say how much I admire Cassidy. What a brave, brave thing she did. She changed the trajectory and legitimacy of the whole investigation. I remember well watching that testimony and I will buy her book today.
