If Schumer knows how to win seats back in the Senate, then why didn’t he use that knowledge to hold on to them in November 2024? Not a smart comment on his part, IMHO.
‘Schumer, for now, is holding his ground. “Let me put it this way: I know how to win seats back in the Senate, which I’ve proven,” he told the New York Times, when asked if he was the right leader for this moment.’

Yeah, winning back seats isn’t the present challenge, which makes it sound like Schumer’s priorities are massively out of order.
By all means, be working toward the midterms and a long-term strategy for winning elections—it’s important.
BUT, right now, Project 2025 is in full effect, and there appears to be no strategy for how to oppose and interrupt the destruction Donald Trump and the Republican Party are causing RIGHT NOW.
Can’t wait two years—gotta act now!
Strong leaders are able to grasp the present moment and the future at the same time, and act accordingly.
Now, any concrete counterarguments against Schumer's arguments pro passing this CR? Or you just want to be as ageist as possible (THE problem that got us here in the first place)?
I don't think anyone blames Chuck Schumer for the loss of Senate seats in 2024. Dems were fortunate to only lose 4 seats. That being said, I just don't know if Schumer is cut out for this particular moment. He was very good at keeping his caucus together to pass two major reconciliation bills, but this moment calls for something completely different.
Agreed. Dems lost Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Montana. I don't think they would have held onto those seats by running further to the left, or with a different Senate leader.

Amen.

They DID hold on to many Senate seats, remember?
