For more than thirty years I have observed that most Americans become extremely agitated and hostile to 'any' criticism of their beloved country, no matter how constructive, reasoned by facts or deserved.

This is the one national character attribute that completely nullifies and weakens the very serious concerns and the existential threat to USA and all other democratic developed nations that Donald Trump poses from very severe criticism by many "foreign" world leaders that normally should cause US citizens to additionally contemplate the catastrophic "global" consequences of not rejecting this wannabe tyrant.

However because these powerful voices are from those outside as "inferior" to America, the reactionary defensive mechanism kicks in to dilute the possible substantial meaning and added impact in support of VP Kamala Harris legitimate candidacy.

Every credible media reporting from outside USA that I have received indicates that should Trump prevail as President, most of Europe/NATO. allied Asian and other hemisphere nation will no longer trust USA one iota, especially with "half or more of the voting populace" strongly supporting a lunatic autocrat that denigrates these friendly countries in favour of the despot dictators whose circle he intends to join.

American arrogance and sense of superiority may end up helping Trump.

He’s Putin’s puppet and a weak old man.

Somebody should tell Tuberville that the Stupidest Senator title is already safely his, and he can stop competing now. For the sake of national security.

Humorlessness always loses a good cat debate.

Why would Ted Cruz, clearly a cross between a reptile and a rodent, be concerned about the cats who are his natural predators?

If you're interested, Tim Miller is a guest commentator on MSNBC today, and has been on and off for hours. I hope he managed to eat lunch. :-)

Re Guiliani's post about the "debat". I've heard Rudy has been sighted hanging upside down from tree branches.

Is that in the day or the night? Sloth or bat?

So ridiculous. Trump is really desperate to come up with this nonsense.

Hopefully, “‘debat’ fly in de face” tonight, Rudy, the entire Republican face. (Credit Carly Simon song)

This is why I love the Bulwark community, responding to snark with wisdom. I have lovingly been married to a grammar scold for twenty years, so I've been gently pushed towards proper grammar. Her current project is to get me to use fewer vs less appropriately. Its a process.

Auto correct messed up my first question (power-sharing vs power sharing), which aligns with her ongoing project to get me to proofread. 😂

The win for Kamala tonight will not be humiliating The Pervert she'll be on stage with.

Although it would nice to see him humiliated, the win is to convince on - the - fence voters in 7 swing states, who know they can't trust The Pervert to govern, that they can trust her. 50,000 voters across 7 states would cement her/our victory. Go Kamala. We love you.

“Remember when my opponent tried for months to engineer a constitutional crisis that would let him steal the election? Remember when he whipped up a mob to ransack the Capitol? Remember when he almost got Mike Pence killed? Vote for me to make sure he never gets to do any of that shit again.”

Say it exactly that way, why not? Too harsh and uncivilized? Time for hardball! just say it and let the chips fall

He also said the "Hang Mike Pence" chant was "common sense."

MAGAs have claimed he wasn't specifically addressing the chant -- which had just been mentioned immediately before - when he said "It's common sense." But the very best spin that could be applied with a smidgeon of honesty is: He found it untroubling that the MAGA hordes were calling for Pence to be hanged right after he tweeted out an attack on Pence.
