It's about time! I donated to someone (don't even remember who now) in 2020 and since have been inundated with texts. Forgot to turn off notifications on my iPad-although I had on my phone-and it kept dinging, over and over again when my family was over for dinner. "What's that?" my daughter asked. I told her and she said "that's part of why I don't participate in the elections anymore".

Suggestion: Candidates could stop sharing fundraising lists! I donated to Beto O'Rourke ONCE in 2015 and I received DAILY breathless fundraising emails and texts from Colin Allred for two years!! Any way that we can set preferences for the number of communications we are comfortable receiving and from whom would be helpful.

I had an issue with a pac that according to open secrtets had donated 0 dollars in spending towards the campaign they said they were working for. I contacted ActBlue with a screenshot of the open secrets listing. All I got back was a form letter. I've since taken to giving only through the candidate's website and avoiding any and all pacs including dncc

whoops, aggressive.

I love those 3 dots & the "edit" option.

Huge help. Joyously technically impaired, trying to understand, (and succeeding) as little as possible about all aspects of IT, but knowing this will aid me. Thanks.

Absolutely, way too aggressive.

I do not engage with unsolicited campaign emails, texts or phone calls.

Going forward I will not donate online. I will send a check to the address of the candidate's campaign office. I will donate once and then I am done.

I am doing the same with my charitable giving, too.

I even got an email weeks after the election begging for money to "fight" the new Republican Congressional majority!

They are getting as bad as the televangelists!

I do the bulk of my charitable giving using a Donor Advised Fund, in part because it allows me to send donations completely anonymously should I wish. And that comes in especially handy when making donations to help with the aftermath of a disaster in a place where I don't live, as it means I don't get endless charity spam from the local charitable organizations.

I use a separate email for all political contributions. While that stops the email (I never check the yahoo account), the texts keep coming. I too only donated to Harris Walz, not through Act Blue… it’s annoying and somehow I am getting Republican texts too!

This is the WORST!! I live in one of those red state shitholes and I get Trump spam texts constantly. I can't block them fast enough. I have no idea how the RNC got my inf0 but I'm pissed!

It is stunning how many democrat spams since the election I receive daily almost threatening if I don’t give all hell will break loose. Reporting junk doesn’t seem to help.

SHOCKING (Rachel Maddow Just Announced!) 4 NEW BIDEN SUPREME COURT JUSTICES???

$name, we're CRYING! Joe Biden can appoint FOUR NEW SUPREME COURT JUSTICES!!!!!!! It won't happen if you don't answer our poll, DO YOU SUPPORT KAMALA HARRIS?? ARE YOU STILL A DEMOCRAT? Mark Cuban JUST ANNOUNCED, 5X MATCH for the next five minutes!

Repeat four times a day from twenty spammers and these geniuses wonder why people aren't engaging with their fundraising anymore.

Only 4? Did i read that right? I was getting at least 4 texts per hour starting at 5 am. But yeah. We got the same content.

Agree! I get so many texts from them now that not only do I delete them, I now block the number! I'm questioning if I will ever again donate to Dems via Act Blue.

1000% ActBlue is a great platform and is incredibly easy to use, but the spamming and frantic texts are likely turning potential donors away. ActBlue - don't be like the other guys, we are the better alternative. Prove it!

Long overdue. They need to set and police firm rules for 1) which organizations can use them, 2) how those organizations identify themselves in all communications, 3) what can be done with donor information (e.g. no undisclosed or unapproved sharing), 4) how often they contact each donor/potential donor. I get so many I don’t read any any more. But I do feel disrespected and taken for granted by the entire ActBlue constellation

I started blocking emails and texts from Act Blue a couple of years ago because they seem like telemarketers (a job I unfortunately had for a couple of months when I couldn’t find anything else in the early eighties ). I go to candidates’ websites directly instead.

I kind of wonder, was it Trump’s campaign or Act Blues that copied the other. They don’t seem much different in their relentlessness.

Yes yes yes … my associates hesitate to recommend donating and many of my friends will NOT donate through act blue

Because they get flooded by hyper hysterical ads and random pleas from pols they have no interest or affiliation with

Stupid and short sighted

Totally agree with these comments. I chose to direct my donations directly to the Harris/Walz campaign and blocked and deleted every text I received otherwise. It was incessant!

The real Party orgs are the worst. DSCC, DCCC, DNC have all sent obnoxious emails like these, over Pelosi’s signature and others. Quadruple match! Urgent deadline! It’s embarrassing.

They have to stop sharing lists. Act Blue needs an opt in button for share my contact information with other candidates. The default must be DO NOT SHARE. I’ve unsubscribed. I got the David Hogg text yesterday and my reaction was, I resent you for making me unsubscribe yet again. That’s not what he’s going for, I’m sure.
