Elon is the TRUMP of social media - likes to piss off everybody, but his butt-lackeys, by saying intentionally stupid stuff, then spank his monkey for the brilliant way he can so easily destroy a fallible but functional institution

Yes, superior in terms of ability or qualities. Thanks. I don't see how most media personalities, or rich people, or celebrities or politicians, or even most authors or artists, meet the definition. I find the word overused, a kind of shorthand for something not at all elite, for power maybe. Seldom used for exceptional. Sorry. Apologies. It's a pet peeve, I guess. Thanks for indulging me.

Does the Republican Party get anything that matters to a normal voter? I doubt it.

As for Elon Musk: he’s an Afrikaner, so will act accordingly…do some research on what that means.

ElonElonElonElon...

WTF is the half-life of an Elon? And are we anywhere near there yet? Just askin'.

RE: MTG / Flatulence protection

Marjorie might have garnered a bit more credibility for her declaration regarding the protection offered by underwear if she'd been a bit more specific as to the properties of all the garments she's tested. Certainly, 'really thick high quality cotton' is pretty vague. I mean are we talkin' N95, FFP2, KF94, KN95 models...briefs, boxers, boxer briefs, trunks, long johns, French cut, high cut, full cut...what???

Again, just askin'. Whatever she's wearing, I'm sure they aren't performing as well as they could, and we're all more at risk because of it, since optimal performance of any ppe is predicated on wearing it correctly. And Ms. Greene obviously keeps her undies in a bunch pretty much all the time. If she'd just take a moment to straighten them out once in a while, at least maybe we wouldn't notice the odor quite as much.

Is Ron DeSantis better than Trump? Not really. Here are some of the highlights of his tenure:

1) He created a ruse to fly Texas migrants to Martha's Vineyard, to no other purpose than using Florida tax dollars to orchestrate a cruel, performative political stunt that has nothing to do with his state.

2) He used the power of the state to try to kneecap a business that is an institution in Florida, for the offense of saying things critical of his administration.

3) He arrested people who voted because the state of Florida, evidently erroneously, assured them they could vote and went ahead and registered them to vote. He did this because it was an opportunity to viciously terrify minority voters in his state and to promote the same lie that led to January 6, that Democrats steal elections. He made a big show of his iron fist against these black, likely Democratic, voters, while having nothing to say about the intentional shenanigans of the fine white Republican voters in The Villages retirement community, about half a dozen of whom have pleaded guilty to casting fraudulent ballots in 2020.

This man Ron DeSantis is a vile bastard. You can be both Never Trump and Never DeSantis, and don't let Conservative Inc shame you for it. Ron DeSantis can KMA.

I think few people are truly brilliant but Musk proves with each day how much the term doesn’t apply to him. His ignorance and lack of discipline is breathtaking.

Looks like Elon is auditioning to be the new oligarch-in-chief for trump's Fuentes-ified maga base, formerly known as the Republican Party.

"If the company were to block Twitter from its App Store, new users would be unable to download the Twitter app on their iPhones and iPads, and existing users would be unable to access updates. "

I'm no tech expert, but I don't think this is true. While the App Store is convenient, I-Phone users still can go to an internet browser and download the app following a search. There is certainly reason to go through the App Store to download apps - convenience, some assurance that the app is legit and doesn't contain malware, etc. - but there is no requirement you go through the Apple App Store or Google's Play Store to get an app. You can always go outside those stores and do it independently. I highly doubt that Apple or Google could prohibit users from downloading apps they find outside their stores. That almost certainly would be an anti-trust violation.

Seems appropriate that Musk’s bedside table would have a framed print of the famous painting, where underlings do all the work while one famous guy indulges in performative grandstanding.

Please excuse the implied criticism of G. Washington here; I hope it’s clear that I’m not commenting on him so much as on the self-aggrandizing use of the iconography.

Trump works with a simple calculation which is to own the news cycle every day. Remember this is a guy who actually thought Wakanda was a real place, so it shouldn't be too surprising to have him discover that his idea for that particular new cycle had real repercussion. It's made doubly hard because he doesn't see anything controversial in his daily alert

And as always, 97% of the republican party doesn't make a peep. That's the real problem. t.

What is going on?

Elon was center-left until like 5 minutes ago. And now, he's an apartheid apologist. Kanye West was more left than right; and now, he's trying to open the African American Chapter of the local Bund.

What makes someone so suddenly just up and become so far right, so hateful, and so bigoted?

To answer M. T. Green's question: Cotton or a mask will not stop a fart, but they will usually stop a COVID virus for two reasons. 1. A fart is SO2 molecules of gas. They are 150 times smaller than a COVID virus. 2. A covid virus usually emerges from the body when the patient sneezes, which means it is usually in a drop of water, mucus or dust, which are all far larger than the virus itself. Overall, the particles are usually many thousands of times larger than an SO2 molecule. SO2 molecules are not entrained in water or dust.

People often ask how the particles of water or individual viruses can be caught by a mask even though the mask fibers are much farther apart than many drops, or than any virus. The answer is that there are many fibers, and the drop tends to hit one along the way. It resembles a person running through a forest in pitch dark. The trees are far enough apart to run between them, but sooner or later you will hit one of them. When water hits a fiber, it sticks.

Of course this is only true if the fart 💨 is not a shart! 😅

RE: MTG's words of wisdom...two points. 1) People wear underwear (of whatever quality) to protect their personals from chafing from their outer wear, not out of concern for your hypersensitive snot maker; and 2) God, in his infinite wisdom, made farts smelly so blind people can enjoy them, too.

A classic case of pulling the trigger without a careful re-reading of what was said vs. what was intended to be said. It's for the pleasure of the deaf, not the blind. Mea culpa.

Tim Miller didn't even mention DeSantis spending $1million plus of Florida's money to move immigrants from Texas to Massachusetts. People want him running the entire country?

And that is what Trump is waiting to crucify him with when he runs. Fits right into Trump's brand or running down others for being dumb.

DeSantis has to wait till Trump is too weak to take him out, because Trump with a target is a force to be reckoned with, vs. Trump punching air.
