They should never believe us again, trust us again, should seek alliances elsewhere, for trade, for joint security, for intelligence. Find every way possible to cut us out, to free themselves of dependence on the US. Boycott US products. Stop visiting this awful country.
We need a taking down. Trump and MAGA think the US can take on the whole world, bending everyone to our will, and can also do without the rest of the world. (As long as we take over the Panama Canal, Greenland and Canada). I want to see us go down in flames. And I want to see a newly united Europe take our place in the world as the defenders of democracy and humanitarianism. In that vein, it was satisfying to hear new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz poke at Trump.
At the UN yesterday, the USA unequivocally let the world know that this time we are the AXIS powers. May we never live down the shame.
