I don't have time to listen to this now, but will certainly do so soon. While I'm not too schooled in cinema, I do, as they say, know what I like, and will always watch a Coppola movie. I want to mention that in'Wine Country,' specifically Headsburg/Geyserville, until recently Coppola owned a wonderful winery. I loved the place before he took it over and it only got better once he did. He renovated it- put in a day-use swimming pool and a section for his movie memorabilia, which remains. Its most outstanding feature for me is a lovely dining terrace that overlooks the vineyards. The menu consists of 'Francis' favorites' - down to earth food at not-outrageous wine country prices.

We went one Fourth Of July with a reservation for the terrace and got to talking with our table neighbors. One group from Paraguay, another Russian. I was quite sure there was not a happier woman on earth that day- talking with visitors from faraway, surrounded by a happy vineyard. If you ever visit Sonoma County, check it out.

For what it's worth, most of the Coppola brand names (Diamond Collection, Director's Cut, Sofia) along with their wine facilities based in Sonoma were sold to Delicato Family Wines (Bota Box wines) in 2021. Coppola still owns Inglenook in Napa Valley and Domaine de Broglie in Oregon.

The end track raised (once again) the hairs on the back of my neck... in a good way. The entire episode delivered.

Thanks for the great interview with Sam. When you asked how things changed re: the tik tok chatter about movie making and business, I was happy to hear him say "yuppies", as I had already thought "boomers". What a relief to listen to your interviews as opposed to drowning in the calamities of the day.
