Joni and the other villainous henchmen/henchwomen are twisted, internally broken, pathetic, gutless and weak. Just vomit inducing.

Hegseth is a heatshield,” Seriously? If I’m running naked down the street will no one notice the burning building? Please!

A majority of this country voted to make the tangerine toddler president of the United States.

The 2024 presidential election was stolen!

Stolen by stupity.

Of course Trumps cabinet is a complete clown show. Who expect anything less from Trump?

Does it strike anyone else as roll-on-your-belly-slap-the-floor funny that MAGA dismisses Ivy-Leaguers as "elites" until they need proof that somebody is actually - uhhh - smart? This from trump (in Politico) in defense of Hegseth: "... He was a great student - Princeton/Harvard educated - with a Military state of mind..." Hypocritical? Yeah. Based on his personal behavior, Hegseth doesn't look too smart - - but hey, pull out the Ivy guns to support him.

Over and over they do this. “Elites suck except for my Yalies.”

She was 96 when she passed.

The Senate can set aside the rape accusation and still have plenty of reasons to reject Hegseth. He was ousted from the non-profit he led because of financial mismanagement, public drunkenness and creating a work environment rife with sexual harassment. This is the stuff we know about. He never ran a large organization and could not pass a routine sec check if he’s an alcoholic, which it seems he is. If Joni Ernst cares more about the military and her country than her senate career, she’ll reject this guy, preferably in public.

The more Trump committed crimes along with his obvious incompetence and Arrogance let alone his lack of Morals his popularity grew with his MAGA followers, maybe this same effect could happen with Hegseth , the majority of Republicans Senators are eat up with trumps agenda, he’ll probably get Confirmed.

So…. Let me get this straight. Hegseth claims that he isn’t an alcoholic, but he promises to become a teetotaler if confirmed. I’m surprised he has time to be making the rounds on Capitol Hill. Doesn’t he have more women to eff over?

Trump will keep "flooding the zone with shit" until we rebel. Its what he wants; an excuse to deploy the military to consolidate permanent control.

Perfectly suited by all vital Trump criteria standards for the new administration. If he were a cartoon character (he will be soon) what would he be called? How about "Sneaky Pete"? Can I get an "amen"?

He is lying. You can't stop drinking overnight:

your body craves it even your brains say"!can quit or I can drink less " Drunks go AA

because they are fighting a long battle. I went

Al-Anon for years. I learned I couldn't stop

the drinker. He/she has to decide to battle. I

met an 83 year old guy-sober for 40 years and he had one and needed another.Drinking

is forever.

Hegseth smelled booze a month ago anchoring Fox News.

He's only just begun. In two years, if he's sober, he may try again.

But not now.

Don’t worry for Pete. He isn’t serious.

I don’t care. He’s still a boozehound, and he’s a sex-abuser. And if people don’t understand what that is: It’s all about power. And that makes them close cousins of pedophiles.

I still haven't figured out why the media, somehow, still believes that sexual misconduct or drunkenness is still a bar to serving in this administration or the government generally. No one REALLY cares anymore. Oh, sure, people will pretend it matters but everyone knows it doesn't really matter. After all that is what they elected.

The "Me, Too" moment has passed and we now live in the "Your body. My Choice." world.

It is far more likely that Desantis and Trump couldn't make a deal.

Also the media once again has made it impossible for Trump to dump Hegseth by commenting on Trumps apparent unwillingness to fight for him on social media. Well, Trump is joining in on the fight making is even harder for Senate Republicans to resist. The more Trump publicly wants and wills something the more likely he is to get it.

(From Canada) Have there large organized protests going on? This is more heinous than ever. These people are actually normalizing rape and physical abuse of women by raising up these animals. A real man has self control and the strength to stand up for others. These men are spoiled rotten juveniles delinquents.

I think everyone is still trying to recover from the wind that has been knocked out of them by the election.

I doubt that large scale protests will have any impact as they will simply be dismissed as disappointed liberals and radicals that simply can't accept that elections have consequences and that they lost.

When the time comes I think we will have to invest in civil disobedience--- but we have to wait until we know what we will be disobeying.

Just read in todays Tampa Bay Times--- Desantis sees no real advantage to his political future taking a job with Trump. Job security is pretty dodgy with Trump and his income at DoD wouldn't make the move from Florida to DC financially advantageous. Being in the Trump Administration would also not facilitate his campaign for President in 2028 where, assuming he isn't already President, JD Vance will have a natural advantage.

My goodness! Who would have thought that Desantis was that smart?

Hey Marc. You might remember me as the guy who punched a thumbtack through the side of a can of fart spray and tossed it through someone's window back in high school. I've been appreciating your reporting for a couple decades now and am really glad you are on the Bulwark.

There's something ironic about DeSantis replacing Hegseth as SecDef nominee. DeSantis was a JAG--a military lawyer (Navy). Hegseth has written about his disdain for JAGs and their silly little concerns for following the laws of armed conflict and not torturing people.

Not that DeSantis was out there leading the charge to close up Abu Ghraib prison or anything.
