Confidence tricksters and their allies will say and do anything to achieve their aims. If all else fails they will employ violence and intimidation - feels like home to them. The one thing they cannot abide is laughter because it shows the mark is onto them and their strategy has failed.

It's a meme war. So the key idea is this true statement:

Trump now says it's ok to kill babies if it gets me re-elected.

Everyone knows the filibuster has been overused and abused for more than a decade now. The question isn't IF the filibuster will go away only WHO will kill it first... I suspect whoever holds the next Senate majority will hold the knife that does the deed.

How far can Trump push them? All the way. It's not like they have anyone else to vote for... and its not like they are going to stay home in droves with all the Woke danger out there.

Pro-life voters are the epitome of one issue voters... and only the GoP will (potentially) do what they want... and remember, it isn't REALLY about saving the unborn, anyway... and certainly not about helping children.

As a Gator twice over, I was stunned to read about the corruption fostered by Ben Sasse, who I really thought was one of the 'good ones'. If he has any shred of decency, which seems unrealistic, he would donate the golden parachute money right back to UF, maybe DEI? So very disappointing!

Early Wednesday morning news:

CNN’s Dana Bash to interview Harris and Walz on Thursday.

How does Ben Sasse get paid ANYTHING let alone $1 million per year until 2028 after he quits his job on his own? How does that work?

Cautiously optimistic, as my wife seeks a nice bolthole in Italy, "caso mai"

Where are you readers at, Optimus / Pessimus-wise?

I'm at very tired of Bill Kristol. His literary moves have all the grace and surprise of an elephant in a ballet. Yes, I read the whole long, long thing.

Intellectuals don't seem to get that Kamala is not running as an incumbent. Since a very large percentage of voters are not focused on issues, the contrast between a younger woman Kamala and really old man Biden could not be sharper. BTW, Trump is a really old white man too.

Kathleen, I just read that white men over 65 (many live in MI, WI & PA - she MUST win PA - moved 6 points toward Trump when Harris became the presumptive nominee. She needs those old white guys. Are they focused on issues? I don't know.

Guys of that age group tend to have a visceral distrust of women and non white women in particular. You may remember that I am planning to go to Pennsylvania, the state where my parents were born and where many of my relatives still live. I doubt if I'm going to make an impact on any older white man, but I will bird dog every POC I meet and make absolutely sure they vote. My goal is to drive 50 voters to the polls or and or help 50 People fill out a mail in ballot. I think this is a turnout election.

I also had a dirty tricks idea where I send someone into a bar The night before the election and declare dollar whiskey shots for anyone who has not yet voted.

Democrats always do better when the poll is given to likely voters rather than registered voters.

Love that TFG's campaign is wasting 10s of thousands to advertise in Palm Beach, a very blue area. Keep it up! While you're at it, how about running ads in Wyoming, Utah, Arkansas and the like. Keep burning up those dollars!

The ads in and around Maralago are for the benefit of drumpf himself to believe that he is campaigning. Running ads where drumpf doesn't see them wouldn't do a thing for his ego.

I am Optimus! My Republican son-in-law to whom I have referred in other posts texted today that he is considering voting for Kamala. Why the change? Well, this A.M. I told him Lawrence O'Donnell said Trump's tariffs made farmers the biggest welfare recipients in history due to Chinese embargoes

in response to tariffs. (Son-in-law was an econ major.) He also has two young daughters, and I know he believes in a woman's right to choose. He also thinks old people in politics should step down for younger generations. If he is reconsidering his Trump vote, I will wager many others as well.

Harris needs old white men in MI, WI & PA - she must win PA to win the EC. Don't dump or diss old white men. The race is just too close to do that.

I can't be the only one who was picturing Bill's little Socratic dialogue there as taking place between two Transformers, right?

I’m not Optimus or Pessimus! I’m with Kamala’s mama- DO SOMETHING! I’m Coach Walz - leave it all on the field! I’m signing up to write letters for Swing Left cause no one needs door knockers in big blue Vermont. I’ll write letters, make calls, send texts, whatever it takes. When we fight, we WILL win!!!

Since morality doesn’t exist with Trump, I will just discuss the strategic value of his move away from pro life. It seems smart to me. If Republican voters have taught me anything in the last decade, it’s that voting Republican is the most important part of their lives, and literally nothing else matters. People who have claimed they have only tolerated Trump because he is pro-life won’t hesitate to vote for him even if he goes completely pro choice.

They will probably assume he is just changing his rhetoric for the election. If they vote, they will take their chances with him rather than a Democrat.

Funny how Team Trump said that they ran the ads in the DC market in 2020 for the other Rs' "psychic boosting", but aren't doing that in DC this time round. Guess the other Rs are significantly boosted this year.
