This gentleman is also a US Senator. You would think he would have better sense, perhaps be a little more skeptical. I guess they don't teach critical thinking skills In Tennessee schools.

Ultimately the problem is how low our collective standards have become, and how little we care about anything other than whether or not someone thinks like we do. Tell us not what we need to know, rather what we want to hear. Their personal conduct does not matter as long as their position on a vital issue is in line with my own. Just tell me what party they are affiliated with and that's good enough. As long as technology continues to dumb us down and do our thinking for us, and we fail to demand quality over quantity, we will continue to allow the lowest common denominator to prevail. I'd like to ask them: if it is not a good business model, or a good model for success anywhere else, why is it so acceptable in politics?

Totally agree with everything you wrote, except that vital issues, I believe, have no place whatsoever in how MAGA voters view Trump, or any other MAGA_centric candidate. It's all about hating the people they have been taught to hate for the last three decades by everyone from Rush to Laura Loomer.
Voter: "Do you hate the people Rush taught me to hate?"

I live in TN. You guess correctly. The tv people said it, so it must be so.

Candidate: "Yes"
Voter: "Then I'm for you"
Fair point. They are proof that negative advertising works.
I agree.
