Here is a real set of numbers: People trusted Trump to handle immigration over Harris by 53% to 44% (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_States_presidential_election#Issue_questions). And people knew exactly who Trump was, what his immigration policies were, what he thought of immigrants from "shit-hole" countries, and how he dehumanized Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio.
We should support Mahmoud Khalil as a free speech issue, not as an immigration issue. We should protest the disappearance and abuse of prisoners shipped off to El Salvador as a due process and cruelty issue, not as an immigration issue.
Elections have consequences. The American people have spoken, and they want far less immigration. Even immigrants want less immigration. We have far more important things to worry about and fight for, rather than getting sucked into the vortex of immigrant activists and their demonstrations.
