Bikeriders is a mediocre movie. The story was boring and kind of pointless. Comer's acting was the best part, although Austin Butler was good too. Overall the movie was flat, I expected more. I'd rather see Hunter Thompson's book on the Hell's Angels get a movie. Way more exciting story about being immersed in the world of bikers. After seeing Furiosa last week, this came up way short.
I cannot believe that you didn’t comment on Jody Comer’s performance, which was outstanding and the best part of the movie, hands down, as far as I’m concerned. Also, the soundtrack didn’t get a nod either, which I thought was thoughtful and beyond the usual picks for that era. I do agree with your observations about what some of the pitfalls were, which in my mind hadn’t progressed past “pacing problems” in the second half.
