I am going to have to watch this a couple of more times, so much going on in each frame. I loved every performance especially Dafoe, I noticed he is like the shortest person in every shot he is constantly looking upward.
I liked the movie a lot. Especially the editing and cinematography. Defoe is always a masterclass. My wife on the other hand did not. She felt it too dark and gloomy even though she did appreciate the same things I did regarding the skilled film making. She was also unsettled that the message of sexual assault regarding womens ability to fight it was for them to be raped again.
