Just once I’d like to see someone write about just how completely fucked up it is that Donald has said he’ll replace the FBI director he himself chose during his first term before that term is finished. Just once I’d like to see someone write about just how completely fucked up it is that Donald has said he’ll replace the FBI director he himself chose during his first term before that term is finished. Chris Wray still has 3 years left in his position. In Donald’s first term, an entire Special Counsel was installed to address the fact that he fired the head of the FBI. Now we just talk about this like it’s perfectly normal. WTAF!?!?
I too was thinking of Hoover and his vast power...but also his vast independence from other power centers. You hit the nail on the head with this assessment.
Exactly. The headlines should start with the fact that Wray, who TRUMP appointed, is not at the end of his term and that it is not normal for the FBI Director to be replaced in a new administration like just another Cabinet post. It is maddening. Newspeople either assume the public knows way more than they do or newspeople don't understand the actual story itself. We shouldn't even be having a conversation about Patel or ANY new FBI lead until 2026 and the fact that this fact isn't the thing that Senators are immediately pushing back on is infuriating.
Here's how the media covered him in the past and now: "It's the second season of the Trump show! Trump said something exciting and provocative. What will happen next? Stay tuned!!!"

Wray certainly should NOT resign. Force Trump to fire him and fully own his attack on the practice of political independence of the FBI.
Hoover amassed power by outlasting administrations. What Trump wants is a Hoover-like director who derives all power from him.

And it seems that all the episodes for the season are being "dumped" at once so we can binge on them over the weekend.
What else to expect from the Trumpster himself, you know, Trumpty Dumpty?
But I need to hear more about Joe's "betrayal" and "lack of principles" because he pardoned Hunter.
Jon Stewart tore Biden to shreds over the pardon. It was bloody.
... and that only to protect him from the declared "Retribution" himself.
It’s Wednesday. We’re moving on!
The media will miss having a Democratic president to beat up on.
Yeah you would think wouldn't you.
