IOW, we are going to screw things up royally, but we warned you about it (at the last minute) so don't blame us when we do it--because you elected us.

And once you elect us we are going to be next to impossible to get rid of.

Can we crowdsource some shirts for Elon of a more appropriate length?

A picture is worth a thousand words…

Or in the case of the Elon pic maybe a gallon of puke

If only there was a media pressure campaign to force him to talk to non Fox or Fox lite media outlets -- or maybe the NYTimes whine about how he won't sit for an interview.

He can say all he wants about Proj 25 but he owns that plan; it's a GOP POTUS Admin plan, if Haley would have gotten this far, it was her plan too.

You know here's the thing. Millions of voters don't understand the details of this stuff but instead hear trump as being a change agent. Example . Tariffs are not familiar to people as they're largely little used and discredited overall in economic policy. But a "change voter" thinks "let's take a gamble. It's different." as they have but vague notions of them. ("Hmmm different. Could do something. Let's try it.,"). So really I think in the remaining days here Harris should pump her change bonafides while blasting his dumb ideas. Be nice to come up with something like tariffs in the sense that it would be something she alone as president could do. And negative ads.

Maybe put out an ad of hells angels riding electric scooters and pickup truck people on similar pulling wagons or something with 2x4s and sheet rock. Don't forget to plaster "tariffs tax" all over everything. Closing line. "Make America great again? How about make america poor again.". Don't forget the tobacco spit to punctuate and end it

I would suggest we have a free press who could explain how tariff work, but they really choose not to.

and pressure Musk to describe exactly how tanking the stock market will help retirees. But you know, Biden's gaffe (ugh).

Grover Norquist and his followers must be seriously aroused hearing Elon's version of Hooverism. Punks like him won't suffer, but the 25% unemployed WILL come for his and Grover's heads.

I just wonder if Elon knows something and is using that message because he thinks it’ll work or if he’s just as clueless as I think he is and money is an excellent insulator for stupid.

Wouldn’t wonder too much about that, because obviously they have no coherent strategy — until they inevitably are bribed into Project 2025 execution. Musk and all the other scheming Trump “thinkers” (because we know Trump puts no thought into policy strategy except revenge, his ego and bank account) are each running their own rampant wish list, like it’s an official strategy that contradicts itself at each turn. It’s a total free-for-all as seen at the MSG rally where all the players were fed some red meat (or coke in Don Jr’s case) and let loose on stage to take down America. At the expense of their gullible minions, who fall into two camps: 1. Obscenely rich who will benefit from tax cuts or payback for their bribes and don’t give a shit about a 20% tariff tax, and; 2, Gullible uneducated people who buy the BS from their reality TV show hero. They won’t get fired, but they’ll sink in this new rando Trump economy.

WHAT is the deal in the US with decent affordable health care? For the love of God. WHY is the US so averse to universal health care?

Expand full comment

Or to a more practical and economic point, doesn’t any of these business geniuses think it might be good for the USA to not give away 5% GDP more in health care than the rest of the OECD.

Because 60+?% have group plans and a big chunk of them have really good ones and so everyone is sort of at cross purposes.

Trump's policies, should he pursue what he says he'll pursue, would basically wipe out the middle class while exacerbating wealth inequality. His policies won't lift any of the poor to the middle class, but it will drag down a lot of the middle class while millionaires and billionaires profit wildly off of the space for price increases that's created when tariffs drive up the costs of imports. Trump won't bring red America up to the standards of blue, but his voters won't care, because he'll drag blue America down to the standards of red. And this is all the predictable outcome if he does what he says he's going to do; this is what his "forgotten" voters are voting for.

I think something like it as u say Here's the thing. Has he shown any ability in the past to change course if something isn't working or appears hard to do? Given his time in office during covid. Id say no. Instead he respects to cheating and lies. These are his go tos... So once in place the policy will stay ...

So Harris will spend that cash this weekend highlighting that she has positions and Trump doesn’t have any? JFK Jr in charge of Health, Elon Musk in charge of cutting government JOBS and corporate contracts, and Project 2025 has nothing to do with any of the concepts for Trump’s government?

Sounds like this October Surprise is the best example of Donald Trump being a great leader, with great people, doing specific things to save America. /s

Because his indoctrinare professions are deeply corrupted. Profoundly so. His views are more closely aligned with hair shirts and a bastardized interpretation that he believes Christianity to be. Imbued with extreme, rigid ideas regarding morals and morality that he uses to rationalize positions and actions he knows to not only be wrong, but reprehensible, as long as they are in service to what he considers the greater objective of creating an extreme, fundamentalist Christo-totalitarian state in America, to be imposed on the nation in similar fashion to Iran's extremist Islamic regime.

It's a very twisted world view.

I think he has a concept. Something along the lines of "I want to cut government healthcare expenditures so I can give my rich buddies another big tax cut."
