It feels like sometimes you are fixated on being in the center of some big drama; Kari Lake, Lindsey Graham, some back room reporter you don't like... When actually those events aren't imho that important. Small hallway meetings blown up as more serious encounters. You have more important work to do. By yourself and with your great teammates. Your relative youth, deep political knowledge, and honed writing skills make you more valuable to getting work done than blowing up these inconsequential personality conflicts. Just my two cents... Keep it coming, we need you...
I have tried unsuccessfully to get some of the thought leaders in the prodemocracy space to organize. But we all seem to be out here floating between different platforms (love yours) but are we all just screaming into the void or can we get the Bullwark, The Lincoln Project, Hopium, Heather Cox Richardson, Jessica Craven, Democracy Docket, Field Team Six, Indivisible to name just a few to come together and organize a summit. I'll buy the first ticket.
And I thought that Pete was brave to go on Fox as much as he does ..... A fantastic piece of reportage, Tim, thank you so much. Amazing to see how indelicate the professional broadcaster can be when in her element and likely disinhibited by a drink or two. You got to her even more than you did Long John Silver, er, Dan Cranshaw. But Tim, a bourbon and coke?! how gurly. If we had gone out after the Reason debate, we could have done some serious butch drinking. :) Love ya.

As an unapologetic, fence-sitting, Democratic-voting moderate, I believe the reason Dems don't have a Charlie Kirk is the same reason there are so many agnostics on the left--Some people are not natural-born followers. Maybe it's all the PBS we watched as kids? Maybe it's Alan Alda and Marlo Thomas' fault for, "Free to Be You and Me, " not "Conform to the Group or You Ain't a Real American?" I find sanity in the Bulwark in our present "Heart of Darkness." I can't decide if Bannon or Musk is Kurtz. For those of us who grew up before books were banned (Gen-X), I'm haunted by the prescience of books I read decades ago.

Sorry you had to go through this, Tim, but I think your work is important and I am grateful. Last winter I went to a few jam-packed 'listening sessions' of a new hunting group in Northern MN who believe wolves are the sole reason their deer hunts are not the success 'they used to be.' (A human population that has doubled since the 1970s, resulting loss of habitat and the fact that wolves have as much right to their lives as we do to ours was not discussed!) My anxiety level was off the charts, but it's important to know what is going on outside one's own comfort zone. So thanks again for listening to the rallies and going to events like these. Hope your ski trip was fabulous!
Attending a convention like Turning Point is like going to the monkey enclosure at the zoo when they are all upset. They won’t all throw shit through the cages, but enough of them will to step back and keep a safe distance.
