Perhaps, but to some extent that's kind of the nature of arguing for a change in the status quo. The people who want to maintain it are going to run the gamut of respectfully disagreeing to being pissed at the change advocates for even having the discussion. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish between the two, but that variation is what keeps us from being a cult.
At any rate, JVL is clearly sympathetic to the Biden stayers. I don't think he was saying that they were a cult, only that at some point things will likely progress to the point where insisting on supporting him against all good sense would be a cult-like way of thinking.
