These are not “likely voters”. Why doesn’t your blog lead with that fact?

Does Israel not see that what it is doing in Gaza bears a striking resemblance to what Germany did in the Warsaw ghetto? Is Bibi that blind to how the world will see what he has done?

Re the GOP lies about an arms embargo: how can an honest, responsible party fight such propaganda? Truth gets drowned in a sea of falsehoods. Shame on the WSJ.

"Donald J. Trump leads President Biden in five crucial battleground states, a new set of polls shows, as a yearning for change and discontent over the economy and the war in Gaza among young, Black and Hispanic voters threaten to unravel the president’s Democratic coalition ."

This is the same NYT that has an executive editor that thinks "democracy" is a political talking point... and one that rates *below* the economy, immigration, and inflation. He also seems to think that "truth" and political bipartisanship are mutually exclusive concepts, that publishing the facts and/or quotes as they are is tantamount to political interference. (See Mr Last's "The Triad" for more on this.)

Furthermore, by posting the polls the NYT -- and other media sources -- are doomcasting to beat the band. Pollsters haven't gotten it even close to correct over the last three national election cycles so why believe them now unless you are either a MAGAdroid, in which case you'll trust them because the polls match your biases, or you're such low-info voter that rather than do any research on the candidates will accept the polls as "the will of the People" and will vote accordingly.

Besides, we're still just under six months out from the election, and it is likely that the numbers will shift several times before one casts their ballot. The more that Trump [sic] vomits out his perversions, hatreds, and his plans for vengeance, imo, the more non-MAGA voters will be turned off by his rhetoric. And when push comes to shove, the "young, Black and Hispanic voters" that are deserting the Dem tribe, on paper, will likely, at the least, hold their collective noses and pull the lever to keep Pres Biden in office instead of voting for an individual that they *know* couldn't care less about them, their wants and needs (unless he can use them for his own personal -- not political -- gain).

There's a hidden possible upside to all of these superfluous impeachment articles. Assuming we've still got our country in 30 years, we might once again be able to use impeachment as an appropriate response to malfeasance because we can point to all these misfits using it now and call them out as the muppets that they are.

Big if as things stand, but I'm hopeful.

It's very likely given all of this, that now or so is the top of our game. And it's unappreciated by millions who are going to for no real reason to perform a kind of national seppuku this Nov.

Regarding Andrew's piece regarding "your rules" and the GOP having their own set of rules. Doesn't that sort of imply they knowingly/consciously have a double standard. I question if there are just a fundamental inability to discern and compare one thing to another, i.e. the false equivalency issue? Biden withholding specific weapons is the same as Trump withholding all weapons versus withholding all weapons as part of a quid pro quo to interfere in our election...let's not forget Bill Barr's comparison of the threat to democracy from EVs, cancel culture, etc to attempts to overthrow an election. It's practically an autonomic reaction?

Haha Hannibal Lechter. Sorry so much negativity it’s making me crazy let’s talk about making Biden President again. Let’s work harder. Not just bitch about it. They say Trump is ahead in those states. Why. Democrats messaging sucks. It needs to hit him harder. Not an effing word about the trial or Cannon or anything. He needs to be attacked HARD.

“Democrats may be perversely saving Republicans from electoral pain by keeping the chamber from spinning too deeply into chaos”

There was no choice - there was too much important legislative necessity going on to allow the majority to devolve into stasis for the third time. Responsible governing demands it. Democrats will get no kudos for this from many, but it was necessary even if it sucks.

It's kind of like that putting country over party thing everyone keeps talking about. And in their own way and with the tools they have available Democrats are telling the Freedumb Caucus to just fuck off.

The opposite of truth is not just a lie. The opposite of truth is chaos…a chaos that is in danger of bringing down the institutions we depend on to govern.

I am so sick of this sh*** 💩

First, our President should absolutely not have checked his watch during the ceremony of observance for the return of U.S. military casualties. Doing so was a callous act of disrespect for the fallen and deeply affected their survivors. He should have personally contacted each survivor and apologized to them, accepting their remarks verbatim.

As a Chief Petty Officer, one of my collateral responsibilities was to serve as a Casualty Assistance and Care Officer (CACO) when a Navy family suffered the loss of a service or family member. I was, unfortunately, called on to assist families as honorably as I could. Disrespect was not and could not be tolerated.

Second, I don't care whether Jen Psaki is a technically a journalist or not. A lie is a lie and a lie made clear by photographic evidence is particularly impossible to spin. The False Prophet lies each time he opens his mouth; our President is supposed to be The Good Guy - he should act it in public and in private.

Third, Republicans - Cotton, McCall, MIlls, etc. - are lying about the military support rendered to Israel by the U.S.

However, the force of calling them out for their lies is diminished when the Democrat President is shown to lie, too.

Time to edit and update Mark Twain to this: "There are lies, damned lies, and statistics... and then there are polls."

The New York Time has been directed by its DNA failure proof that "the first generation makes it, the second generation keeps it, and the third generation loses it," A.G. Sulzberger to concentrate on sandbagging Biden for his failure to kiss the ring of this lesser heir with an exclusive interview.

The Times concentrates with these polls on the "registered voter" screen, which gives Trump an edge among those walking down the street thinking it's a nice day, when they get a call from an unknown number and answer it. The polls have continually shifted - in small increments - toward Biden when the "likely voter" screen is checked out. People think differently and come to different conclusions when they think seriously about what their vote will get.

But the over-educated, under-intelligent, otherwise-unemployable trust fund babies of the Press Corpse will continue to "follow orders" since they're terrified of unemployment.

> Psaki’s new book falsely recounts Biden’s watch check in troop ceremony:

Why is this even a thing? So he looked at his watch? Maybe he wanted to see if it was time to take his medicine? Maybe he has a secure Apple watch and he was checking his CIA briefing to make sure we weren't under attack? I can't believe we're down to parsing things like looking at your watch and facial tics... Meanwhile the former guy can't stay awake at his own felony trial, rambles like an 8 year old on meth, and can't finish a coherent sentence; and significant proportion of our fellow citizens and most of the Republican establishment support him for president.

I wish media sites like axios would stop publishing these BS stories -- leave them for Fox news where they belong -- and that other journalists would stop repeating and amplifying them.

I agree and I don't agree. The fact that this is "news" is revolting. Nevertheless it isn't necessary or good to lie. But to expect anything but spin (lies) from any member of the "deep state" Political Industrial Complex is pretty naïve. "I am shocked, SHOCKED that a politician or a political operative plays fast and loose with the facts.

Biden checked his watch---- meanwhile on the other side “He’s not a war hero,” Trump said. “He is a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

Yes indeed your point, there's no reason to lie about it. My objection was that his checking his watch is news worthy; I have no idea what's going on with Jen Psaki and her book, but lying about it is ridiculous.

> Never mind the fact that any reasonably observant high schooler could sketch out the differences between the two situations: Republicans are just operating under your rules.

The problem is that Republican voters will never hold elected officials accountable for this nonsense. Between gerrymandering and institutional advantages (land is more represented than people) many many Republican representatives and senators can do nothing to govern the country (in fact they can actively impede it) while they sit and throw rocks, and they'll be re-elected over and over.

"Trump: We will not allow our colleges to be taken over by violent radicals."

This is correct. Trump instead will violently take them over with the National Guard/United States Army. Not only colleges, any violent [sic] mass protest by internal enemies [sic] will not be tolerated. Just another trait of the growing fascism.

One thing the link points out and that I don't remember seeing here is the Indiana vote results. Biden won 100% of the D vote, the Orange Snake didn't get 100% of R votes, and hasn't in many of the prior votes.
