We sure wish the MAGA Republicans would have panicked BEFORE confirming Hegseth, Patel, Kennedy, and Gabbard…as if these confirmations weren’t going to impact their constituents! Every damn letter I wrote to Idaho’s Senators and my U.S. Representative were replied to with, “well, Trump had an overwhelming mandate in November so we have to support him.“ I’m sure they said that about Hitler too.

Trump only won by a slim majority and had no overwhelming mandate. His evocation of a mandate is as delusional as his election victory in 2020. While everyone knows that Trump is mentally unstable and needs to buy into delusions to feed his voracious ego, what is most pathetic and pitiful is that his followers cower into flattering him and signing off on his illusory visions of greatness. Trump is a modern day Pied Paper leading this country into domestic and international disasters.
I find some of the "panicking"/statements purely performative.
Susan Collins remains "concerned" (of course) and several R Congressional Reps and Senators have made statements and then turned around and done the bidding of FOTUS.
It's like folks who do parlor magic tricks who share "look at the hands (what they do) and ignore the patter (what they say)".
And the "overwhelming mandate is a pile of steaming equine biosolids.
But they ALL parrot the party line - every single one of them.

Thom Hartmann has written some good pieces in the past few days about whether folks (elected or not) will have the courage to do what needs to be done.
And over 90 million registered voters ignored their right (and DUTY) to vote. So essentially about 30% of voters actually chose the orange felon, based on how many voters actually turned out. Not a mandate by any definition.......

Pied Piper, maybe, though I don't want to see him in his leotard!
ChatGPT could help out with the leotard.
Actually he didn't even win by a majority, the majority of voters did not choose Trump
They say it but not true. 1 1/2%.

49.8% of the popular vote, what an overwhelming mandate!

I too am disgusted…
