After 30+ years of the dis-information industry spreading its bile, hiding behind the First Amendment, we no longer have a “well informed” electorate. We keep wringing our collective hands about what to do but the answer is, and always has been, to regulate all media to insure that lies, conspiracy mongering, character assassination, hate speech and innuendo are not available as “news” or opinion. The First Amendment was not created as a poison pill to eventually destroy the republic.
