Even if we had large majorities in Congress who wrote campaign finance bills with real teeth and a Dem president who signed them, those laws would immediately face legal challenge, land at SCOTUS, and this court would strike them down. Again and again and again.
That is our reality and we need to we face it—to acknowledge we need big donor money no matter how distasteful that is—until we either pack SCOTUS or they die/retire and are replaced.
