The fact that 1 man, masquerading as a sentient being , could cripple the Military is ridiculous. The entire senate should be all over him !

I wonder, if Tuberville took a sick day, could the senate push through a bunch of promotions in his absence? Does his plan rely on perfect attendance?

How the Hamas attacks magnify Tuberville’s obstruction. He really needs to get that obstruction looked at, it’s cutting off blood to his brain.

I would love a deeper dive on why Senate Republicans can't go around Sen. Tuberville for the confirmations. I know there's a lot of parliamentary stuff involved, and would appreciate the Perticone Perspective!

I wonder why Senate won’t have the up or down vote on military reimbursement policy on abortions. Won’t Collins and Murkowski vote yes to offset Manchin? Seems like that’s a worse vote for GOP after Dobbs

I wonder if Tuberville's obstruction would go away if the issue he objects to was re-worded as: reimbursement and time off for travel for medical care that is locally unavailable. This is not gender specific.

The GOP has all the intellectual depth of piss on a platter. They are worse than pathetic.

The OBVIOUS next speaker must be George Santos. Indictments add that JE NE SAIS QUOI so essential to a Republican candidate for anything. And in maintaining the tradition of lying, he is perhaps second only to trump for pure dedication.

As to Tuberville--his crusade to save the lives of innocents sure is going well for a whole lot of them, isn't it.?

The Republican Conference sounds like the Festivus from Hell, where the Airing of Grievances loops over and over and never ends. It couldn't happen to a more deserving set of people.

Reading through the comments where this petty tyrant Republican is blocking this and that petty tyrant Republican is blocking that is a total red herring. Where is the Senate Minority Leadership? If this is being allowed and the so-called leadership at this point is just sitting on the sidelines, it is on HIM to get his people in line.

Take away Tuberville's parking space (especially at the airport), remove him from all committees, find a nice broom closet with no electricity to become his office, revoke "coach's" gym pass, and require him to get a pass approved to use the bathroom. Same for the other losers that think this is a shiny new toy they can break. P.S. A little field trip for him to see what the Pentagon actually does might be nice.

As for the house speaker, Scalise has had experience in leadership though he has never been particularly effective, he and Kevin were totally unable to count votes. He assuredly is MAGA as is Gym who has had zero experience in leadership. The republicans need to take note of his less than stellar performance as chairman of Judiciary, he has never written a single piece of legislation as his career in entirety is one of a bomb thrower. If there was ever a need for a secret ballot it is now. I am totally convinced on a secret ballot enough republicans would make a deal and Jefferies would become speaker.

I was under the impression that Ted Cruz was blocking all the Middle East Ambassadors. Schumer needs to get his thumb out of his butt and get this done, maybe work more than 3 days a week. If McConnell doesn't do something then I am for giving him the up or down vote If Schumer is sure he can deliver 50 democrats. I am sure all the republicans running really want to vote to deny women in the military health care. At any rate the organizations that are pro-choice and pro-military need to spend some money not just blasting Tommy but ALL republican senators for allowing this.

Why does no Senator advocate for holding the senate 24/7 until Tuberville's prostate explodes? If things are really so dire it seems like Schumer would do that immediately. That he refuses to even bring it up tells me he DGAF about it.

"Old Guard" is the accurate term for the pathetic non-maga Republican remnant. If a Republican "establishment" still existed, Tommy Tuberville would have been brought into line long ago, and continuous support for an allied European democracy under Russian attack wouldn't even be questioned. All that remains is the maga mob of Jim Jordan, Steve Scalise, Kevin McCarthy, Josh Hawley, et al., to be flushed down the sewer where they belong next November.

Sen Schumer is AWOL. Clearly, Jared Kushner's relationship with Saudi Arabia should be investigated, action should be pressed on ambassadorial nominations, and on and on.

Schumer is in China right now on an Asian tour with a group of Senators, and he's also been working on not shutting down the government due to the budget. I'd love to complain about Schumer as he's my senator, but these last couple of weeks have been BUSY.
