Project 2025 sounds mundane, but it would institutionalize Trumpism, eliminate the Department of Education, mass deport 11 million people, and turn the Department of Health and Human Services into the Department of "Life." Plus, more from the mailbag, and Biden finding the sweet spot between Uncle Joe and punching Trump in the face.
would it be possible to make sure to always put in the show notes who the guest is, i.e. where do they work, what have they done? I don't know who Symone Sanders-Townsend is, same with Jane Coaston. Unfortunately, I don't have time to listen to every show and if I don't know who the guest is or why they might be interesting, I'm probably not going to spend time on it.
I truly don't mean to be snide - but Google is available to everyone with an Internet connection. If you're going to spend the best part of an hour listening to the show, I suspect you can spend two minutes researching a name you don't know to decide it they're worth listening to. Or, y'know...press Play and let Tim introduce them.
Well you are being snide and you know it. I made a simple suggestion that I would find useful and you act like a d*** about it. You have a sad life, I pity you.
Nothing Christian about capital punishment. I wish these places that want to post the 10 commandments everywhere would post the sermon of the mount right next to them.
Today, a landscaper doing some work in my front yard (who is a gulf superintendent at a course in Albuquerque) was telling me how he has never seen the course so busy. I guess people need a distraction from this awful economy.
I really enjoyed this conversation with Simone Sanders and the mailbag segment as I had free time while my group of 8th Graders explore the Smithsonian Museums on day 1 of the DC trip. I'm one of those guides with a motor coach shepherding 30+ 8th graders around the memorials and sites of DC. It means I have to talk about each one a little bit. It means I have to balance how I explain certain historical places and events depending on the vibe of the the teachers/adults. I've had groups come out of souvenir shops drenched in Make America Great gear to one girl today from Texas who expressed she felt like she committed a crime because she bought a stuffed animal from a souvenir shop stocked with MAGA attire. Her comment gave me hope. I explain to her capitalism was the reason for all the Trump gear, not that the store itself is political. Then later I take about how the protests were broken up so a certain President could walk across Layafette Park to hold a bible upside down. I like sharing the facts and addressing the complicated issues of our democracy while reminding them that they will soon be responsible for what kind of country they live in. I see it as my job as a single cat lady to infuse as much of my liberal views into their young minds as possible, lol. As a side note, I was eating at a restaurant next to your alma mater and overheard the table next to me, they must have listened to this episode as well, because they were talking about your trip to Barcelona and quoting you about the state of airport lounges as a sign of a lousy economy.
Louisiana is all about charging for license fees and anything else they can. There’s no state income tax. I lived there. It was ridiculous. Dead animals, trash on the road all the time etc. You get what you pay for.
I don’t know. I think Project 2025 only sounds mundane to the clueless and ignorant who don’t really understand how our federal government functions. To the rest of us it’s bloody terrifying and a national catastrophe in the making.
My husband was selling books when the first volume of the Caro series was published. I feel I’ve heard more about Robert A. Caro’s Johnson than a body should ever hear.
They should ask Heritage Foundation if they want to rename DOD the Department of Peace next time they talk. Maybe then the Orwellian tones they're spewing will start registering
From my brother who had a PhD. We all know what BS is. Not hard to guess MS. PhD is piled higher and deeper.

Omg how about that!!
When regulations can be super right racist that’s a bonus

Good examples from other IJ lawsuits - florists and monks making caskets:

I'm frustrated with Dems for pre negotiating away visceral reaction. It's clear huge chunks of voters are emotion based today.
https://www.trainingreform.org/state-police-training-requirements Look at Louisiana, 450 hours to become a police officer, 500 to legally braid hair. Makes sense. One of those things is dangerous.

Thanks for reminding me that Trump made drug-taking (performance-enhancing) allegation vs Biden in 2020 debate (also vs Hillary in 2016)

This guy is so predictable with his playbook.
Tim and Symone have great chemistry.
About political books, you should read Robert Caro's books on LBJ.
My husband was selling books when the first volume of the Caro series was published. I feel I’ve heard more about Robert A. Caro’s Johnson than a body should ever hear.
Well, for me, the first volume is the best, and sets the groundwork for the rest of the story.
Just bottle Symone and give that to POTUS
How come no one’s talking about the moderators
Seems like they’re gonna be crucial in pushing back when Trump starts going off the rails and talking Lies
