I think the ASMR video might just be the most egregiously deplorable thing they’ve done to date. Seriously - to encourage this kind of sociopathic lack of empathy and lust for cruelty in the American people is appalling on a whole different level. And the fact that those same people are eating it up is beyond terrifying. I truly don’t know what to do anymore if this is a representation of the society in which I live.

Agree, the utter lack of humanity--there is something so wrong deep inside these people!

Two wrongs don't make a right. The more corrupt a civilization / society / government the lesser the educational systems and lifting of the common folk. We are just less corrupt ... perhaps until January 20, 2025 (surpassing Jan 6, 2021).

Never said they did. There a lot of reasons people lose wars. That doesn't mean they deserve it nor do they deserve the horrors that come after.

The Afghan, Iraq, and Syrian (dictator) wars were lost by corruption. They neglected their military. They either did not pay (Syria) o r allowed the officers and senior NCO's to take a cut of the enlisted pays. Mosul had twice the forces and superior Tank and artillery when ISIS et al approached them. The senior leaders (political appointees) who had been taking much of the enlisted pay, fled by plane. Without a command, the enlisted fled by vehicle and foot. Documented by interviews of soldiers who fled and were in Baghdad.

Partially. Sure. Ive fought in all 3 locations you discuss above, alongside Peshmerga, Sons of Iraq, and other assorted characters. But the whole regions is corrupt—and who are we to call anyone corrupt? Who is the current president again?

It's truly sad what has been done to so many good and decent conservative people by these monsters - and I mean not only Trump and his henchmen, but by the rank and file MAGAts who facilitate their mutual symbiotic power. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do but survive for the next four years, no matter what that takes, or what we have to say and do to do it. Rubio knows it. The rest of the GOP establishment knows it - that's why they've gone underground. Federal bureaucrats are finding it out big time. And Democrats, despite their futile and impotent rhetoric, will find out (if they don't already know it) soon enough.

There is no political weapon that works on Trump and MAGA, at least not one that doesn't result in mutual and total political annihilation of Republicans and our priorities - i.e. leftwing Democrats take over everything and transform the nation into all those things AOC and the radical left wanted Biden to do.

Trump has a shelf life of four years. After that the joined symbionts die. Trump would have been devoured alive by decent society, if not for the power/support of his deplorable MAGAts. And, his MAGAts would be powerless, rudderless, and irrelevant without his weird and perverse leadership (like they were pre-2015). When he goes, they will splinter, and we can assimilate the majority of them back into the party and rebuild. Oh, it's never going to be 2004 again, but I believe most of the elected GOP, and some of the Democrats, in DC are good, decent people we can rebuild with.

Until then, there is nothing we can do other than survive, and hope the damage is not irreparable. It's like hiding in the basement during a tornado. We'll come out in four years when it's over, and see if there is anything left.

Maybe we should just let Putin have Cuba again. Trump could build a seaside golf course and resort, and Putin could have a navel base near to his new best friend. Little Marco could then bless all the new economic possibilities of that arrangement.

In Season 2 of the Marvel series Loki, Victor Timely argues that 19th century Chicago was the "schadeocracy" capital of the world. The word does not exist, but watchers speculate that the term stems the German term "Schadenfreude": Pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune.

The US under Trump is now a full-blown schadeocracy

It is true, magaland loves cruelty and sadism. I don't know how that kind of warped pleasure begins in a disturbed person. It's not video games, or movies. Millions of people view those without savoring exquisite pleasure at torture and death. It is a hallmark of fpotus worship to be a sociopathic psycho like him.

Regarding Afghanistan, did not the own the libs crowd verbally eviscerate President Biden for "abandoning" Afghan helpers? Are they likewise calling out the fpotus, for his action of ending the Afghan refugee program? No, they are not. They also exhibit disturbing minds, by rationalizing rank hypocrisy.

Not to mention all those folks in Michigan and on college campuses who voted for Trump because they thought he would save the Palestinians in Gaza. I wonder if any of them had "seaside Trump resort" on their Conquering Orange Hero bingo cards?

Stabbing Ukraine in the back is far worse than Chamberlain's sell-out at Munich. Trump is actually switching sides! Zelensky is the Churchill of his country. But Trump does not admire democratic leaders. He admires the other side.

Does anyone have a good list of who has quit or been fired? I would love a special project with a running list to keep track of who and why. Every news article focuses on one or two but I think seeing the overwhelming numbers in a list would be helpful even if some of the entries is just "100+ of XX employees"

Marco was so far out of his depth, it was embarrassing. Blinking and halting and choking out his canned script. Proverbial deer in the headlights, looking like was seated on a porcupine cushion. And seated in shadows, the sinister minister of Russian foreign affairs, Lavrov, smiling. An all around pathetic betrayal of one historically great country. Ours. And another country of great manifest courage, in the fight for its democracy, now being sacrificed, Ukraine.

I sincerely hope America wakes the F... up sooner rather than later, and that you can makes things right internally and begin your country's recovery before you go completely over the cliff.

As it stands now however, forget about being trusted anywhere in the world that isn't ruled by a dictator anytime in the near future. Your current record as a friend and ally is disgraceful, here's just a couple of highlights:

America abandons the Kurds in Syria, who they were fighting alongside in the war on terror.

America abandons the Afghans who worked for and fought with them during the war on terror.

America now abandons Ukraine and sides with the Russian aggressor, after promising Ukraine protection if it gave up its nuclear arsenal.

America talks about invading Greenland, invading Panama and even making your closest friend Canada the 51st state. For those that think Trump was joking, are you 100% sure on that?

America withdraws from international aid programs and strands their own citizens on foreign soil, and opens the door to increased terrorism, another pandemic and global instability.

Great job voters of America, you'll get your America First wish fulfilled, but what you didn't realise was part of that deal, is America Alone! Good luck with Putin & Xie when they decide they've had enough of President Musk & his Court Jester Trump.

As the old saying goes, with friends like these who needs enemies.......

You're right - although I did not vote for any of these fools. When, someday, the majority of our country who did NOT vote for the broligarchy (the "opposition vote" was split between Kamala and 3rd party candidates), we will have decades worth of repair work ahead of us.

This has nothing at all to do w/ this newsletter, but thought Bulwark readers would find it interesting. Assuming the country and world eventually recover from the demoralizing saga unfolding now, I hope some historian does brutal justice to the roles Mitch McConnell and Marco Rubio have played in the derailing of their country from the messy, but generally noble track it had been on since WWII. These two personify the truly grotesque levels of cowardice and rationalization it took to take us from where we've been to where we're headed.

Agreed - for Mitch McConnell in particular. What a two-faced, sleazy, weak, little cowardly man. Hell is too good for him and the damage he's done, all to feed his own sickening ego.
