If Trump gets elected, not only will he write Israel a blank check as a form of red meat for his evangelical base, but the campus left will have all sorts of new things to protest about besides Gaza like:
- mass detention camps for immigrants

The thing is, they won't get to protest those things very long because Trump will deploy federal law enforcement and the national guard to detain them. It won't be the local/state cops breaking up the protests in '25 under Trump. And the campus left ought to think real real fucking hard about ditching Biden over Gaza, because if Biden loses due to lack of turnout, they're going to have a whole new world of problems.
Exactly what I'm worried about. I believe that most people support Israel but also do not support killing innocent Palestinians. Even most Israel people do not support their president. They realize he has failed in protection them and failed the hostages. It's a real tragic mess.
I bet there are plenty of people who are Trump managers and are paying people to protest and shout anti Biden slogans. I heard a lot of protester are not students.
I know. I agree. These protesters are stupid and understand nothing. I thought some of them were Ivy League? Do they not teach critical thinking at those schools.
The way it works at elite schools (I'm a rather recent alum of a non-Ivy highly selective private university which draws from mostly the same applicant pool as the ones featured in these sorts of protests) is that most of these students are actually smart and capable of critical thinking, but they turn it off when it's not something related to their schoolwork or their job. Essentially, they are smart but they're not intellectuals. They don't care to think deeply about any issue that they aren't being evaluated on, and they revert to tribalism, sloganeering, and having to feel like they're on the right side of history. They also have a lot of undue respect for activists because the liberal/progressive parts of society tend to laud them, and so they feel like they have to be activists to be respected as someone who cares about the world beyond their narrow careers. A lot of popular culture denigrates those who are narrowly focused on their own lives and careers, and so showing that they care beyond those things, even in a very unintelligent way, makes them feel more cool.
Real Trump supporters will be guarding the concentration camps with glee. And pushing Muslims onto the boats taking them somewhere else. For them watching the pain and anguish of others is the whole point.
Reminds me of the New Yorker cartoon showing sheep scattered in a field, with two of them staring at a billboard of a wolf in a nice suit (I forget if it had a blond hairdo) with a quote along the lines of "I'm gonna eat you" and saying to each other something akin to "Boy, he tells it like it is, doesn't he?" in obvious admiration.
Well said, Travis. But even the loudest bullhorn in the world wouldn't drive this point home to a lot of them. It's a bit hard to hear clearly when your head is... well, not where it should be.

Trump supporters won't realize their mistake until the government comes for them. And eventually, it will.

Exactly!

They don't think that far in the future.
Clearly

you think kids that the think their uni should be bringing their lunches during "protest time" have any clue about this? ...
Can they say "entitlement"? "privilege"? "social conscience"? Any of the above? Didn't higher ed used to include critical thinking skills?
Clearly they don't, and maybe they're going to have to learn the hard way. The problem is they'll be taking the rest of us along for their ride too.
i am both against vaporization and bread lines... dang it all.
