Every Vikings fan can attest to the stupidity that is Brett Favre. Guy is proof that consistent shots to the head can cause permanent damage.

The fact that this guy could ever read a playbook, let a lone a defense, is proof that all the talk about Black QBs was just straight up racism. You trying to tell me Brett Favre is smarter than Michael Vick?

Everyone age 40 and up remembers Favre's numerous interceptions in the worst possible moments; throwing across his body falling backwards; and throwing into triple coverage. We all got excited because he would complete a pass here or there that looked cool. Sadly, we all forgot the other times where the pass was picked off and cost his team the game.

In your discussion of Nikki Haley's on the trans thing, Will refers to participation in girls' sports by teenagers who are "chemically male." Those who are exercised about this would do well to rethink whatever opposition they have (and vote for) to gender-affirming care for minors, which includes pharmaceutical "puberty blockers"--because such care would prevent precisely this. Think of the male singers from a few centuries back who were known by the Italian term "castrati," who were made through castration to retain their soprano voices after the onset of puberty; or think of eunuchized harem guards. In modern times we have what's sometimes referred to as chemical castration. I don't disagree that we need data; but we also need education in just what's really at stake in this culture war.

Threaten wannabe immigrants with having RFKJR as a neighbor, if that weren't a human rights violation.

Re No Labels's map, in what sort of universe would Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts and Vermont go gold in which California remains blue? In 2020, Biden's % margins of victory were 29.14% CA, 29.46% HI, 33.21% MD, 33.46% MA, and 35.42% VT. I can understand believing California has become knee-jerk Democratic, but I have some difficulty believing Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts and Vermont are all homes to majorities of deeply disappointed centrists yearning to vote 3rd party.

Showing only California, Connecticut and DC as certain Democratic jurisdictions for 2024 seems to me to be an outstanding indication of just how unserious No Labels is. If wishes were fishes, . . .

That article is wrong. Dukakis carried Washington in '88.

Trent Crimm for the Independent! Classic! As for Sununu, the man is not serious. He wants to beat Trump yet he admits if Trump wins the GOP primary he'll be voting for him. Really Chrissie???

Makes perfect sense if he's keeping his chances high for 2028.

For the next generation the Republican nominee will need to win at least a plurality of the MAGA vote in the primaries.

Far-left people who support stopping all war, disbanding NATO, etc. always remind me of this quote from Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings":

"It takes but one side, not two, to start a war. And those who do not wield swords can still die upon them."

While it's cathartic to read my fellow Bulwarker's "Loons to the left, loons to the right, stuck in the middle with Bulwark" comment, one important difference is that people on the left recognize and call out left wing loons far more so than do our counterparts on the right--or even those GOPers who try to tell themselves they're "moderate", whatever that means these days. This has been the case for a half century and more, and it's why we have Trumpism. It isn't "both sides" that brought us here. It's the GOP and it's voters. They couldn't handle losing to Bill Clinton, then later to Obama, and thus they signed on to whatever right wing echo machine that would promise them some kind of misguided "revenge". Whatever Clinton or Obama were for, Republican voters were against, even balanced budgets and surpluses. So here we are. But I thank God for the Bulwark staff and for all of you reading this. Stay safe everyone, and Keep the Faith.

Regarding Republicans treating party affiliation as a more important qualification than knowledge, skill, or experience, here is fresh news from NW Florida (A.K.A. “Lower Alabama”):

Coastal entity Santa Rosa County has an all-volunteer Marine Advisory Committee, for which the owner of a local aquaculture company offered her services. Although the county is overwhelmingly Republican, the County Commission is officially non-partisan. Nonetheless, Commissioner James Calkins proclaimed that he would not vote for the volunteer unless she changed her political affiliation to Republican from Democrat.

Per local television station WEAR Calkins labeled Florida Democrats an “Evil Party”, and asserted, "The majority of the citizens expect us to put political appointees that are republican in positions…. That's what they expect us to do and I'm speaking for them."

Encouragingly, two other Commissioners and several citizens have spoken critically of the comments, one stating, “You are a dangerous person Mr. Calkins.”

Oh, how I wish Trent Crimm did write for the Bulwark ...

I'm a lifelong Democrat, btw, and have voted Democratic in every presidential race dating back to 1988. I would vote for a civil, science-accepting, anti-Trump Republican before I'd vote for Cornel West. Disband NATO? Umm, ok.

Have people heard RFK Jr. speak? Not only is he loony, but the vocal dysphonia makes it challenging to listen to him. He doesn’t have the smarts of a Diane Rehm to overcome it either.
