Still, what left the deepest impression on me was seeing the Biden family join Joe on stage. The moment when Beau, his grandson, held Grandpa's hand as he walked off that stage? Good God, may we all be so blessed. Joe can walk away from this job because he has something more at home. He might have been the least wealthy Senator, but he could be the President with the greatest gifts.
I'll never stop being grateful that he was our 46th President of these United States.
Really wonderful comment. I watched last night with a big box of tissues. And you are correct, we should all be blessed with a family like Joe Biden’s.
I feel like I've seen so many people criticizing the optics of the speech, and the night as a whole, wondering if they could have done more to win over swing voters.
And while I get that, the night wasn't for them.
The night was for Joe, for the Democratic party, for the supporters who worked so hard to help him win, and will work hard to help Kamala win.
I was filled with such joy and gratitude watching Joe speak. He dedicated his life to serving the American people, and he made the sort of sacrifice that so few leaders have in the history of the world. How many people are given that sort of power and freely let go?
Thank you Joe! So happy he got to have his shining moment.

I join you in your thoughts. Between your comment and JVL’s essay, I’m in a puddle, so much emotion.

I feel like we had a glimpse of little Beau's following in some big footsteps
Amen.
