I agree with those who say that sending an online petition, comment, or even postcards and letters will do nothing to deter Trump and his allies. If they can ignore federal court orders, why would “a comment” make any impact. And the republicans in Congress have so far been unmoved by their constituents’ messages. I have given up making phone calls and sending online messages. Instead, I have donated to the democrats running for election on April 1st and will continue to contribute in all upcoming elections. I will also participate in peaceful demonstrations (wouldn’t it be wonderful to have thousands booing Trump as he plays golf on one of his many courses??). I participate in boycotts, especially against Amazon and any sycophant billionaires’ businesses. I pray we can hold this administration to account through peaceful means, but I fear another civil war might be coming.
I agree with most of what you wrote, with one exception: I think (or hope) that an occasional comment on a major topic (e.g., Ukraine, Elon Musk, standing up for judges, etc.) submitted at Senate Majority Leader John Thune's contact site may still have value. He's not MAGA, as you probably know. I hope that views from across the country have an impact on him. (And maybe they don't.) Just a thought that I offer to you (or any reader).

I hope you are right, Paul.
