Tucker gave Putin a microphone to tell the fake history of Ukraine,ie. there is no such thing as Ukrainians or Ukraine, giving legitimacy to his invasion. This is just what the pro Putin Repubs need to end military aid to Ukraine. Putin also said he favors Biden to win the presidency thinking Americans are dumb enough to believe this. Please Bulwark bring some historians to explain the history and culture of Ukraine to counter Putins lie.

I knew someone bring that up. No, I knew about that. It was an incident I believe Trump told Putin about location in Africa, or somewhere on the continent. I know I’m confusing something. It was something that Putin found out about through Trump and put our military in danger. I just can’t remember. If anyone can recall, I appreciate it.

I follow a very pro-Ukrainian group on Discord. No one there liked Alexei Navalny. They felt that he was an imperialist just as much as any other Russian leader, and no tears were shed upon learning that he had died.

Yes, I understand this publication's disgust with the Trump's support of Putin. I share that. But I don't think Navalny qualifies as a martyr that should be put on a pedestal.

In order for the world to be safer, I've become convinced that Russian society must be completely demolished and the Russian Federation broken up. Remember, post-WWII a large portion of Germany was handed over to other nations and the remainder was divided for decades; that was the only solution to a militant and dangerous Germany. Something similar must happen to Russia. In terms of the war, the sooner we supply Ukraine with cruise missiles that can level Moscow, the better. The Biden administration, even with all that is has done, is woefully inept when it comes to this war, unable to see what it would truly take to win and bring peace to Europe and unwilling to supply Ukraine with what it needs to win.

In the same vein, lionizing Navalny, no matter the reason, mis-identifies the problem. Navalny wasn't the solution to Russian social dysfunction, he was just another side of the same problem.

Am I getting too 'conspiracy theorist' with this or, considering the Russian oligarch links which have been exposed recently to funding the campaign for Congress of House Speaker, Mike Johnson, is anyone else finding it passing strange that the 'reliable' FBI informant for the Republicans has a Russian surname? I honestly wouldn't put it past Putin to attempt an infiltration of the FBI with a double agent. All I'll add is, thank goodness he was found out by the Special Prosecutor.

Oh, and Dinesh D'Souza and Tucker Carlson's brains are broken.

With the disclaimer that I'm not a Russia expert, what screams out at me about Navalny's death (apart from its absolute awfulness) was its timing -- a week after the airing of Putin's interview with Tucker Carlson, and right when Congress was considering an aid package to Ukraine. In this context, Putin's ordering Navalny's murder (and could it happen otherwise?) conveys Putin's sense of impunity. In some measure, the act was a middle finger to both Carlson (who was cowed by him) and his pathetic GOP apologists, telling both that he didn't need them, and wouldn't owe them.

I was a bit upset when I learned that Trump had compared himself to Alexei Navalny. It was not my intention to let my emotions runneth over but I nearly threw-up.

RE: Trump's Description of NATO

This is exactly correct. Trump looks at the world in a very basic way. "Does it benefit ME or not?"

This explains his disdain for POWs, for wounded vets, and for war dead. In Trump's pro/con evaluation, these people got nothing beneficial for themselves. They lost and Trump hates losing.

Similarly, something that is mutually beneficial but not tangible, like the mutual protection agreement of NATO makes NO SENSE to Trump. Again, "How does this benefit me? Show me the money!" The man is incapable of strategizing. He cannot see a benefit that doesn't carry positive dollar signs for him.

He has taken the anti-war sentiment of rural white America, a segment of the population that feels that it overly bore the burdens of Afghanistan and Iraq. (Considering the racial makeup of our current volunteer army, I'm not sure that's true but this population doesn't exactly have a great track record of objectivity.) He melded that anti-war sentiment with his own pro-strongman worship and somehow we came out with Russia/Putin good, Western liberal democracies bad.

It’s disgraceful. Do these crazies remember. When Trump allowed troops to be killed in Africa? I am probably getting part of it wrong. But there was something Trump did or didn’t do was horrifying an American president would say something to a foreign country. Can anyone refresh my memory?

You are probably thinking of a 2017 incident in which several US and allied soldiers were killed by Islamic State fighters in Niger. Trump didn't have much to do with putting them in danger (it was an extension of an Obama-era mission to support France and Niger vs. IS), but he was typically terrible in the aftermath, forgetting one soldier's name and telling his widow something like, "your guy knew what he was getting into."

On Smirnov and Comer - it is literally Trumps first impeachment Mk2. Manufacture a scenario that does not exist to smear the name of the Bidens. Proves that Trump has learnt nothing from the first impeachment, he was cleared by his corrupt Republicans of course, and that he has zero moral compass and lies like the rest of us breathe as a matter of course. The knowledge that this guy is being considered for the highest office in the US, says so much more about America's current weakness, than does any of the geopolitical challenges facing the planet at this moment in history.

Donald Trump IS NOT SIMILAR TO ALEXEI NAVALNY in any way humanly possible. The idiot(s) who said this need to go back to kindergarten. Right, I should not be surprised - but if anything that deals with reality, Trump is the anti-Navalny. He is a dishonest, disloyal, and a self-focused person. Someone who doesn't give a damn about others, about democracy, or about truth. He sold his soul and our country to the Russians a long time ago. Both Trump Jr. and Eric have openly stated that the Trump Organization - as far back as 2008 or sooner - has been supported to the tune of $100 million (or more) by Russian banks. (www.businessinsider.com) Russian banks - who are entirely managed and operated by the Russian KGB/FSB - give large sums of money to foreigners for two reasons: (1) launder black cash into another country's economy, and (2) to entrap and obligate the foreigner to work for Russia. Any way you add up this issue - Trump and his organization were on the KGB payroll about ten years prior to the Russians maneuvering him into sleeping in the White House. This is TREASON.

For anyone to say that Trump resembles Navalny is not just completely brainwashed and dumb, but this is an insult to all humanity and common sense.
