The Harris media approach thus far was validated by the questions she got in that mini media scrum, which were an absolute embarrassment - "did you see what Trump said?" "will you do the debates with Trump?" "did you hear what Trump said about Tim Walz?"

Journalists in high dudgeon about the fact that she doesn't have to "answer for her positions" or "provide a vision of governance" give up the game when they turn into gossipy tweens the moment they actually get to engage with her.
It's like the MSM (and tRump) turned the VP choice into The Bachelorette (oh no......not Josh!?) and the campaign into The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (Did you see what he said? Who bullied Joe into quitting?). They are only looking for the next hot-mess car crash to report.......
"What now? Did he call veterans suckers and losers again? Did he make up a story about being in a helicopter crash, or was it that thing about sharks and electric batteries? It's hard to keep up. Anyway, does anybody have a question about a serious and relevant topic?"
What happens if you are in an electric helicopter being flown by a loser vet and it is about to crash into a sharknado? I mean, in the America of Kamala Harris, you're just screwed in such a scenario.
My thing is basically to publicly treat Trump's provocative blather as the triviality it really is, to drive home the point that Trump is a guy who makes a lot of meaningless noise while acting in fashion that is overtly detrimental to our social health.
Completely agree. They are bored with Trump and want to find some issue they can try to get her to stumble on. When your opponent is a stark crazy felon/rapist/liar, but the media wants to report him as though he were normal, then they make every interview a gotcha one.
Tim makes the point that young people (on campuses, at Turning Point rallies, etc.) have only known Trump. At this point, a lot of the political press has only known Trump, too, but that's no excuse - the above is malpractice and anybody involved in it should be read the riot act by their editors.

Heck, that's something that could be useful.

I do.

Is Willie Brown losing his shit over there in the passenger seat? That's an important detail.
perfect
Josh... Right on!!

Bingo.

Absolutely! That “scrum of her pool reporters” asked only about Trump, plus “when will you have a press conference?”
If all they want is wrestle-mania back and forth between candidates, why waste time talking to reporters. Come on, man!!
Here are some of the question asked of Harris: (from @Mattmfm)
Press questions asked of Harris today:
• Respond to Trump’s press conference
• Respond to him accepting debate
• Opine on why he pulled out of debate
• Respond to Trump’s criticisms of you
• Respond to Trump’s criticisms of Walz
• When will you take more press questions
Holy cr@p that's embarrassing.
