There Are Actually People Who Think Trump Is Mentally Fit for Office, But Mueller Isn't
I'm sure you've read everything you need about the Mueller testimony. And I promise you that I've written everything I want about the Mueller report.
But I do want to say one thing about Mueller day, though.
The best headline I saw Wednesday was this one, from Byron York: "Confused performance by Mueller raises questions about handling of investigation."
Contrast that, then, with this headline from Tuesday's Washington Post: "While bemoaning Mueller probe, Trump falsely says the Constitution gives him ‘the right to do whatever I want’."
The entire thing is, as the kids say, chef's kiss.
The president of the United States clearly has no idea how his office functions. Here is the actual quote behind that Post headline: "Then, I have an Article II, where I have to the right to do whatever I want as president. But I don’t even talk about that.”
The man appears not to read important documents. Or even remember things he's supposed to be doing. He is a text-book racist. He claims to have invented phrases that predate his birth. He forgets that historical figures from the 19th century are dead. Forgets where his father was born. Forgets the name of Apple CEO Tim Cook. Gives utterly unhinged, rambling speeches like this one.
And suddenly Byron York is deeply concerned about Mueller's mental fitness to do the job of independent counsel? He's just asking questions?
Are you forking kidding me?
