What kind of complete idiot believes that water causes magnets to lose their magnetism?

Oh.... wait.

Never mind.

The fact that he said "all I know about magnets is this..." makes me laugh every time, since he went on and demonstrated that he knows nothing about magnets.

But I bet his cult members went home and tested his theory....and still believed him.

Trump and GOP candidates are MOST PATHOLOGICALLY DEFENSIVE and vulnerable about Jan. 6, 2021. Independent and Democratic and Never Trump GOP voters know what they see and hear from that day so replay it incessantly: Trump's remarks & despicable 187-minutes of voyerism, the footage of the rioters with their Trump gear swearing at/attacking police & desecrating our Capitol and GOP elected officials' immediate HONEST reactions/statements. Replay the 1/6-1/9/21 statements of McCarthy, McConnell, Cruz etc...

I think the most effective thing I've seen yet is the clip (probably MSNBC?) showing clips from Biden's speech this week alternating with clips from Trump this week. Biden sounds sane. Trump sounds batsh&& crazy scary. Plus Biden is modulated; Trump just screams. Side by side, one looks like I could live through four more years and the other looks like NOT.

Hopefully somebody will turn that into an AD!

To me one interesting question is who does Haley endorse in the GOP primary if Christie stays in the race longer than she does. Does she endorse Christie, an idealogical ally, and end whatever very small prospects she has for the GOP nomination in 2028? Or does she endorse Trump, which would be an humiliating bending of the knee, and she still has very, very little future in the populist GOP?

Today's tRump supporter is his or her own toxic mix of stupid, ignorant, and evil. Their intellectual firepower extends no further than pulling a finger on a gun's trigger. Further, their leaders have no shame. Democrats don't seem to know how to deliver political punches. This poisonous combination will lead to a terrible 2024, I'm afraid.

I appreciate the path you shared about how Biden can get from under Trump. In looking at the trends and listening to various podcast and reading newspapers; it seems to me that Biden needs to ensure he is communicating to the young and the minorities. Why? Biden has locked in the Democrats that will be there no matter what. The young and the minorities are the ones that need to be convinced that going with Trump will hurt them more, and that Biden is offering solutions that will improve their lives. We have a lot of work to do.

The US killed an estimated 3 million Vietnamese and poisoned their land, water, and DNA for generations with our criminal use of Agent Orange. We also had 56,000 of my peers killed and millions traumatized by the stresses of killing and being targeted.

Our young lads, equipped with automatic weapons and put through boot camp and POW training where the "gooks" were dehumanized often killed and tortured innocent Vietnamese as well as those who resisted our taking over the colonial role previous imposed by the French.

Our Air Force officers, including John McCain, relentlessly bombed "North Vietnam" (our fabricated, and supposedly temporary entity), killing uncounted thousands in a reprehensible effort to destroy their economy, ruin their crops, and sap their ability to continue fighting.

Yes, the communist government which defeated our troops and replaced the highly corrupt and brutal right-wing Catholic dictatorship, was itself brutal.

Yet, as LBJ realized too late, we were never able to find political or military leaders who were free of corruption or able to muster more than a small coterie of followers. Coup followed coup. The war was unwinnable, "peace with honor" was Nixon's pipe dream. And it was never a "noble cause," as President Reagan, and those who don't know the history asserted.

And, good grief, please don't accuse me of liking totalitarian regimes or, g-d forbid, supporting the orange menace. I suggest you study the history of the Vietnam War so you won't make such ludicrous, ignorant claims in the future.

JVL: Great Newsletter. This is something I do not believe that Pres. Biden could focus on in his January 5 speech, yet maybe some of us should focus on the "God Made Trump" video. It sure looks like a modern form of idolatry to me. There may be a reason that the first and second commandments are at the top of the list. In effect, Trump is claiming to be America's Messiah. That is as close as one can get in modern America to claiming god-like status without actually claiming to be a god. He, in effect, is saying that he is god-adjacent. He is, in effect, is saying, "Just accept me as your messiah and I will save you from 'them' and I will save America." How should Christians respond to this? Clearly, the video provides support for the understanding that Mr. Trump "has a heart for idolatry" and is trying to become an idol for Americans. What should be the Christian response? How about: "Sorry, but not sorry, we already have a Messiah." If faithful Christians seriously consider that video, I believe many of them will come to understand that they cannot continue to be a Trump supporter and a faithful Christian.

Let's put all of that in a series of ads with 666 on Trump's forehead as the mark of the Beast. Throw a little doubt in the Evangelical's mind as he's saying "I am your messiah".

It seems to me that God is on Biden's side. After all, according to this reasoning, He picked Biden to be President and kicked Trump to the curb.

I'm confused.

Sauer argued that if the president in an official act orders Seal Team 6 to assassinate a rival, the president may be prosecuted if the president is impeached and convicted.

So that means a president may be prosecuted for official acts. What kind of absolute presidential immunity that?

Good point. Either he has absolute immunity or he doesn't.

If decent people don't want Trump back in office, they better hope Dems can find someone who can beat him. This delusional notion that old Joe Biden is up to the task has gone on too long. The Obamas and other pros know it, and are finally saying it out loud. If Joe won't step aside, he needs to be pushed aside.

I am very concerned about the situation with the Houthis and the Gulf of Aden and Red Sea. Remember the effect that the Ever Given blockage of the Suez strained the global supply chain and exacerbated inflation. It is very likely that BOTH the 7 October attacks and these Houthi attacks on shipping were at the very least influenced (and I mean to say well past "approved") by the Russia-Iran alliance. Russia very much wants Biden to lose so Trump can capitulate with respect to Ukraine. The Biden administration needs to take strong measures to ensure shipping through the Suez continues at a level that will continue to allow inflation to remain within what the electorate considers reasonable.

I wanna also note that even average voters seem to be grasping that Trump isn’t running to improve their lives but to enrich his own and exact revenge.

Great newsletter, JVL. Suggestion: Perhaps some PAC should run billboards, ads and TikTok posts with the statements made before everyone turned and ran. And DO NOT follow the anti-insurrection statement with "where are you now (Mitch, Kevin, Cruz, etc.)" . As we have found put, a lot of people take what they see as fact, and as Joe Friday said, "Just the facts, ma'am." This will push the Repubs back on their heels trying to explain why they said what they did. And it's not libel or defamation if you just present their words. (Please correct me if that is incorrect.)
