"But in both the House of Representatives, which has been in session for ten consecutive weeks, and the Senate, which has been in session for five consecutive weeks..."
Versus the 52 weeks the rest of us drones work every year.
I really enjoy these even if they are disheartening. I especially welcomed this: “All of these incidents today came from the men on the Hill. Maybe they’re too emotional to be in Congress.” Everyone overlooks anger as an emotion but men display it all the time. He’s right. This is emotional. Trump is emotional. Chip Roy is emotional. Thanks Joe for pointing this out.
While I really get the toddler references, and have used them myself, that is not the current vibe I get from the R’s. It’s more bad high school re-runs with cat fights in the bathrooms, and Bull fights on the Senate floor, and “testy” jostling in the House halls. Comer, however, is pure spoiled brat.
Great writing as always. I too have often felt that we men are too hormonal to be entrusted with positions of leadership. We've shown it time and time again.
Absolutely. There is no reason to even attempt to negotiate in good faith with grown up toddlers. No good would come of that. Especially since the likes of MTG want Democrats dead.
I am clearly in the wrong profession. Like another commenter said, why did I chose to work 50 weeks a year in place where I can't hit/verbally assult/call my coworkers names (and I have good ones!!! better than MTG)? I mean pretty good benefits, but no free health care, I am never on TV and my emails dont generate any extra cash (though they are asking for resources).
Let me get my PAC up and running. Kari Lake et al shows I don't even have to really win. George Santos shows I could even use a fake bio.
I thought the folks in the house were fools...but really I am the dummy??
Ok - so regular folks work 50 or so weeks a year and the snow flakes in the house and senate have what amounts to food fights for 10 and 5 weeks, respectively and we should feel sorry... not this guy - it is fraud that the R side of the House gets a paycheck at all... this is a preview of the chaos if the GQP controls the Presidency and the house... this is serious...
1) When the leader of the party is an ex- reality-TV star, you get reality-TV behavior from the party members. Perhaps this Press Pass should be subtitled “The Real Republican Politicians of Washington DC”.
2) Assuming that Jared Moskowitz has his facts straight about Comer loaning his brother money, I can understand why Comer would get so upset. After all, according to last week’s Press Pass, Comer believes that loaning money to your brother borders on an impeachable offense. That’s not to be taken lightly. And, of course, the proper response when accused of something is not to provide another set of facts or even your side of the story. You know, act like an adult. Instead, it’s to attack your accuser (and extra points for calling him juvenile nicknames). You know, like a child. Another trait they share with Trump.
3) As I and many others have said too many times to count, today’s GOP isn’t interested in actually governing. They’re interested in trying to be entertaining (that and getting on Fox). But above all, the incidents outlined herein clearly show that these people have no idea what it means to be an elected member of the national government. Another trait they share with Trump.
4) These people are clowns, but, sadly, clowns that will be reelected.
Oh... Kay... That means Andy Cohen for Speaker. Bravo! However, we will have to have some Housewife dishing Tea about how ugly and stupid they are after the Season's International Vacation. (like no one wanted to be near them despite their overt drunken attempts to hook up.... and how they brought local prostitutes back to the resort...) We can do some silly games mocking them on "Watch What Happens Live."
“Marjorie Taylor Greene is a hard-working member of Congress, but she, I believe, lacks the maturity and the experience to understand what she was asking for and how ill prepared we would have been to do it.”
What Rep. Issa omitted from his assessment of his colleague is that she is also sorely lacking in the intellect necessary to be a competent, productive member of the House of Representatives.
Jeff, having no f***ing idea who Ms. Gunvalson is I googled her. The somewhat physical resemblance aside, she is yet another reason to not live in Orange County.

Great article. Keep up the good work watching the house.

Moskowitz may look like a Smurf, but Comer looks like the kid who played the banjo in Deliverance 50 years on.

"All the L's that's fit to print."
I see what you did there.
😀

Have you had to sell your soul so far?
LOL...that's a great reason to stick to my day job!!!
BTW - Shout out to Joe P for monitoring the kindergartners so the rest of us don’t have to ... how you do it I don’t know!!
Tru dat!! My bad! :)

We, the citizens of Bakersfield, are SO proud of our little Kevin. LOL
My God, how do they keep electing him???
They do . They think they are courageous. It’s complicated.
A few comments…

If I was Comer Pyle I wouldn’t get into a battle of wits with Jared Moskowitz.

I think you meant competent, productive member of society.
He also left out her power went out the door with Kevin McCarthy.
And she voted against the CR And so did Gym Jordan) while Kevin (“KEVIN!!”) voted for it. So much for their alliance.
I think we should alter her name to "Marjorie Taylor Gunvalson"---I dare people to look at her and NOT think of Vicki from Orange County.
Jeff, having no f***ing idea who Ms. Gunvalson is I googled her. The somewhat physical resemblance aside, she is yet another reason to not live in Orange County.
Hey I live in OC! San Clemente is a lovely city and most of OC has ditched the GOP
I know, "hard-working?" Really? How about the terminally thirsty MTG? So desperate for screen time.
