Where is the vengeful God of the Old Testament who would strike down those who oppose His chosen people? OMG I forgot, He saved D's fat axx so tRump the Terrible is really the chosen one?

The rest of us are just chumps - sitting ducks for whatever the Delon division of the MAGA Party throws at us?

And NO motion to impeach! Where is the Opposition's MTG when we need one like her? I decline to dignify the Democrats as "opposition" until I see some real action - not just WORDS, damn, damn WORDS.

Republican repulsiveness is remarkably repugnant...

I sort of sadly had to "laugh" (because getting mad wouldn't help) at the phrase "...all we need is 4 GOP senators or 2 House members..." How many times has this "all we need is (fill in the blank) GOP Senators or House member" been cited. Hope is NOT a strategy.

Separately Tim's X post about Gaetz's DEI/merit hypocrisy.. Being “equitable" toward extreme ideological positions is NOT DEI, even when there is no experience/competence/merit. Because DEI is only when gender or racial “equities” are involved apparently?

Once the military is crafted in the eye of Trump, we are sunk.

Your protests, townhalls, and letters to Congresional folks are imperative and now!

I don't get it. Patel lied at his confirmation and in meetings and somebody is still surprised by it? MAGA lies. About everything. All of the time. There should be an L in the title. Same with the SCOTUS candidates. Same with every single person Trump selected. And same with Trump and Musk? Why is anyone surprised? Why not simply assume they're lying and deal with that?

Expand full comment

There were, e.g., lying Republican SC nominees before MAGA.

Be interesting to see if t***p once again sides with Musk as he did on the H1B visas. I am guessing that he will. t***p is in deep to musk and he needs the chaos as a distraction to what he is doing to Ukraine and with Russia and very soon China and North Korea. Congress has to act now or it is going to be too late.

Republicans seem to be going over the deep end, but that may be in response to Dems going over the deep end. We didn't offer any good solutions to the migrants pouring over the border. We didn't just say that transexuals deserve compassion and respect--we said let's find one to be assistant cabinet member so we can flaunt it in the Right's faces. We didn't try to clean up the gang mess in inner cities; we were concerned about releasing people from jail without bail. I'm not sure what got us to this spot in history. I just wish we weren't here, and I don't know what to do about it.

The single thing that changes every part of our culture is a good job. And the Democrats under Biden did just that: developed programs that provided MILLIONS of JOBS. And major crime has been declining since all the "crooks" are working......

Expand full comment

Name one thing the Democrats did or failed to do that justifies Trump and Musk's lawlessness and ongoing assault on the constitution and any and all norms that get in their way.

Expand full comment

Nothing justifies what they are doing, but Dems could have had a primary instead of insisting Joe was still up to the job. Dems could've passed an immigration bill. Dems could've gotten tougher on crime in the inner cities. Why do you think people stayed home or voted for Trump even though they hate him?

Because they would not vote for another Black or a woman.

We the Governed definitely have the collective power to stop the current group of things who are disgracefully dragging our country through the mud. A national strike and a tax revolt would be a good start and the sooner the better.

Please help organize resistance. Constant drumbeat about "sliding" toward authoritarianism is not helpful. What concrete and effective actions can your readers take immediately? Thank you.

Yeah, 15 people with signs showing up in the cold ain't gonna do it. Showing up angry at red district's town halls is also kind of pathetic.

Expand full comment

The town halls may be more effective than you realize. The GOP reps are freaked out, according to eyewitness reports in Atlanta. We need to make them more afraid of the voters than they are afraid of Trump. They are cowards; it isn't hard to frighten them.

With Trump being the biggest coward of them all. From what I've seen, whenever an R politico stands up to Trump, publicly and loudly, Old Orange goes all rubbery in the knees. He's already backing down from confronting anyone who calls him out on Musk's demanding email responses from every federal employee by a given deadline or be fired.

They would endure a public stoning if Trump asked them to. On Jan 6 they ran for their lives and ducked slung excrement, and then only waited a couple days to start singing his praises again.

Seems the only thing they care about is getting voted out of office.

Comrade Trump just voted against the UN resolution condemning Russia for invading Ukraine and slaughtering of hundreds of thousands of innocents. The Republican Party is a collection of anti-American, anti-freedom bootlickers.

One might notice that Gaetz's failure to provide an example of a qualified offering for Trump's cabinet (not even himself) is an admission...a damning one.

Ironic how Gaetz--with his freakish plastic surgery pedo nazi face--would try and make fun of anyone else's appearance.

Expand full comment

I'm glad you brought up Gaetz's appearance. The man is a living, breathing and walking cartoon of evil badassery personified. How any woman could vote for him is beyond comprehension. It must be the ones who like bad boys.

Expand full comment

He's not a bad boy. More like a deviant pervert trust fund thing. As far as why any woman would be with him period or vote for him, it's the money thing. Indicative of the god awful moral decline of American society.

For a brief moment, I saw a trending towards friendly exchanges in the local political environment, that is, my own ruby red neighborhood.

Then it vanished, and hostile, angry faces and voices have returned in the last two or three weeks. I'm not sure why, but perhaps it is the defensive reactions people are using to deny the obvious tyrannical words and deeds of Trumputin.

I'm 75. Too vision-impaired to shoot straight, too surrounded by MAGA neighbors for body armor to cover all vulnerable targets.

All I'm good for is martyr-meat, which given the encroaching march of MAGA jackboots is exactly how I'll end up.

That's why, Doug, God invented the 12-ga. shotgun (preferably in the pump and side-by-side variations) and 00 (double-aught) buckshot ammunition. Just like the old Kodak Brownie camera: just point and shoot. No worries about focus or movement. Deadly out to 100 yards. Get one with the shortest legal barrel length, which is 18". If you opt for the side-by-side, get a model with two triggers, one for each barrel. That way, you can fire both barrels at one time. Also, fewer moving parts and quicker reload than a repeater.🤠

BTW, I'm 78 and have pump and double-barrel guns in all three of the most popular gauges --12, 16 and 20-- in my gun safe. And they're all loaded. I live in Texas, so I'm just average at best as far as being apocalypse ready.

Dear Mr. Gaetz, Please post some pics of Pete Hegseth at his drunken worse, and while you are at it, post some of yourself. You and Pete have a lot more in common than drunkenness, I hear. Inappropriate sex seems to be another character flaw and then lying about it afterward.
