Unless you're part of the cult, Trump's comments about our soldiers aren't going to sit well. Of course, if you weren't already aware of them, you've been living under a rock and may not hear about them yet. I will say this, though. There is never ever going to be another 100th anniversary of the end of WWI. Trump skipping out on the ceremonies because he's too dainty to get his hair wet while denigrating the warriors buried there is infuriating, and superlatively despicable on that particular landmark occasion. And this is all out there, for everyone to know, yet there is support for this man and a chance he will become president again. And it really has me down on the country. Biden isn't perfect, mostly because of his age, but he isn't the bastard who's applying to be Commander-in-Chief while lying to the public about his contempt for the sacrifices of the people he would be asking to sacrifice.
And it has me down on the men and women in uniform, too, who tend to vote Republican but will still by a majority vote for THIS Republican. How can they not see what's going on here?
The problem is that many people don't listen to the news or pay any attention to reality. Quite a few people believe that Biden got rid of Roe v wade even though it was one the most contentious decisions of the SC during Trump's presidency. There are probably many service men and women who never heard Trump say that or read anything about it. It's surprising to people like us who have the motivation and time to get the facts.
My answer is because they are anti-Dems. For decades they've been hearing that THE Left is destroying America on right-wing media, so they have to be a Republican even though they know everything you pointed out. Their media stars tell them Biden is worse.
Rupert Murdoch has managed to get his propaganda network onto Army bases. So they are being reprogrammed like half the country. There is nothing we can do about. I don't know it gets better when he dies.
They've been airing FoxNews on the military bases for years, too. The pro-defense/pro-military legacy of the GOP is hard to shake, as is the legacy of war protests on the left. There is a history there. But things have changed and the sooner people recognize it the better.
There was a recent Jordan Klepper clip where he's at some MAGA gathering and asking people what they think about the Trump felony convictions in NY. One guy he talked to, in his red MAGA hat, really infuriated me. I couldn't even remember what the guy was saying, because I was so fixated on his hat. It had Make America Great Again on it, but it was written in Russian. This is what the GOP is today.
Putin is now the darling of the right wing. He kills his opposition and gets away with it. He did the same thing when he was a Communist KGB operative. Face it. That's what Murdoch's propaganda is telling them. Letting people be free is for pussies. The jack boot is the only way. Even if it's on their necks.
I couldn’t see the MAGA in Russian when i watched the first time on my small screen. That is crazy! I would have loved to hear Jordan question the guy about that!
The US armed forces are one of the most diverse institutions we have, DEI or no DEI. I doubt that as units they would fight to support white supremacy. Christian nationalism, maybe.

I know my daughter and her guy friends listen to Rogan and Corolla and they are smart and well educated and they prefer conservatives. I think it makes them feel counter culture or bad ass. Even though my daughter who absolutely loves dogs and animals, couldn't say that Kristi Noem was wrong for killing her dog and goat. She just didn't want to appear politically correct.

My friend's sister was in the army and had a lot of problems with her fellow male servicemen. It wasn't like in the movies.
