But America wanted four more years of this.

It would have been nice to see AOC get the ranking position in Oversight. When the Democrats have talent, they need to feature it, and she has been an upstanding member of the party for some time now. It was a mistake not to elect her to the post.

Totally agree

It was a major mistake that Biden did not keep his promise to be a 'bridge' president and then hold a primary for the 2024 election. And another mistake was in not appointing a younger more energetic attorney general like Jack Smith to prosecute the lead Insurrectionist sooner after January 6, 2021, than was done. If that had occurred, we would not be facing the next four years.

Hindsight is 20/20. We don't know if tbis was a bad move. Why get pissed off when something doesn't go your way when you don't even know the whole story.

Biden, like Hillary, directly gave us Trump. Both allowed the Dems to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Hillary took the 2016 "blue wall" for granted and her hubris gave us Trump.

Biden's hubris gave us Trump a 2nd time. The Dems have lacked a leader and a megaphone for the past few years due to Biden's mental decline. Any normal person in the office would be more popular than Biden, but because of his age and decline, he was quickly viewed post-Afghanastan withdrawl as helpless. Unemployment and inflation could have been both at 0% and he would STILL have <40% approval.

The presidential Bully Pulpit-completely evaporated and useless. Any rational observer knew that Biden won because he "wasn't" Trump and that he vastly underperformed compared to polling. And yet, he decided to put Trump back in office!

You can't make this stuff up. Here we are today, with the GOP taking control and silencing dissent. All because of the Dems deference to seniority and internal power.

It would be shadenfreude somehow to see Biden get thrown in jail by Trump's DOJ as a direct result of his hubris and selfishness. Even LBJ could see the writing on the wall.

Yes, and if you recall, the press asked him about it in March 2021, and he said he intended to run. I was like, WTF, at that moment. I felt we literally dragged him over the finish line in 2020, and there was no way he would be capable in 2024. I knew this, and I had enthusiastically voted for him. Such a lack of leadership by the party until it was too late in July of 2024.

Democrats continue to sleepwalk. A functioning president would be thundering about how simply un-American Trump and Co's lawsuit threats against their enemies are and at least try to rally awareness of the autocratic things happening. Yet Biden has disappeared and in Congress, they continue to play the "you've put in your time, it's your turn now" game.

Epically frustrating. Democratic leadership needs to be swept out. Not on the AOC bandwagon, but I do like her positions on working class economics. She's an effective communicator and the Democratic leadership needs to put her out there more. My hunch is the big donors don't want her in any leadership positions, nor do they want any real changes whatsoever. And, the existing leadership is protecting their turf. Turf protecting and donor appeasement are the DNC's top priorities. Winning is secondary.

I disagree. She is young and will forget a path to an effective future. I don't know that she might have bern better than they chose, but maybe he is.

I trust the judgment of the Democrats in the House on this. This is just a pause in AOC’s ascent, not a slapdown.

You do not appease donors if you do not win.

Yeah, the Democratic Party has yet to do anything whatsoever to make me open my wallet again. Disappointing but not surprising.

Edit: My solution to this ridiculous problem is to identify and donate to the specific Democrats and outside orgs who you think can lead us out of this mess. Skip the DNC as a whole.
