I should’ve included Gen X, too. I’m at the end of the Boomer era so most of my colleagues were Boomer and X. I worked in IT for almost 20 years in the first part of my career. I thought we had made a lot of progress until I saw that the guys I was working with every day were heading out to strip clubs at night (or at lunch). Last time I saw this firsthand was 2014 and the Gen X guys were showing the Millennial (maybe some Z?) guys that this was the way to be a man in business. I realized then that we were backsliding A LOT. Then Trump and all these resentful men came out of the woodwork. I know it’s not all men but the tolerance of such a low bar for men and the acceptance of “boys will be boys” is so disheartening.
That’s a really interesting observation.
