Your kindness reminds me of volunteer work that I'm fortunate to do. As a retired social worker, I found a place to quietly use my skills. I support/guide older teens who facilitate service & moral empowerment groups for 12-15. The older teens don't really need me there, but parents feel more comfortable with an adult in the room. What I found is the teens don't really need me there, but they enjoy teaching me about what's and learning from me too. how to use their favorite game apps. One of the core element of the group are arts/music/skits activities and service projects. The group decides on projects which have ranged from helping a sick or elderly person with yard work, fundraising to buy hygiene products for homeless people & food drives. The older teens facilitating the group are fabulous and I've seen them become kinder and more compassionate.
