In Colorado, independents can vote for either party in the primaries. I do it all the time. They send you both ballots and you return whichever one you want to. If you return both, neither counts.

Yeah, in OH we have closed primaries...I am an independent, but I have to register as one or the other to vote in a primary ( and I can easily unregister after, but, still a pain)...as independents technically don't exist here...lol
