Some of us who live in countries where most people are not party members (and the few who are have to actively renew annually) are a bit puzzled by your ingrained party affiliation. Could this election mark the rise of the swing/non-affiliated/independent voter? Most people who know me would assume me to be a Democrat. But if I (magically) became American, I would definitely register as an Independent. There are Democrats I would never support and Republican I could. I can’t imagine feeling locked in to one particular party.
It is a little confusing to be honest but if you are not registered in one of the major parties you can not vote for one of their candidates in the primaries. I am registered as a D but do not vote along party lines. It would be great if Independent and non affiliated voters could vote in the primary elections for the D or R. This would make the candidates less able to only appeal to the farthest to the left or right.
In Colorado, independents can vote for either party in the primaries. I do it all the time. They send you both ballots and you return whichever one you want to. If you return both, neither counts.
Yeah, in OH we have closed primaries...I am an independent, but I have to register as one or the other to vote in a primary ( and I can easily unregister after, but, still a pain)...as independents technically don't exist here...lol
Now if only Katie Hobbs can destroy her opponent in the AZ gubernatorial-race, I'll finally be breathing easy. Whew. And we now might actually see depressed GOP-turnout in the December runoff there, due to the Nevada results.
Yeah, unfortunately I am from OH....sigh...too many crazies in the populace here and people who honestly think they are doing the right thing ,scared people, due to the people they listen to...
We used to be swing and we can again...DeWine isn't crazy and they all aren't, they are just outnumbered
At least Jim Jordan is no longer my rep due to new maps
OK, this is total BS, my Bulwark+ subscription renewed recently and the content I am getting is a 2 minute pod?!? I mean WTH guys, I expect much more than the 31 to 59 of substantive articles, pods, and live streams each week than I am all ready getting !!! This is just like "oh the podcast software ate the Secret Pod tape!" Riiiight. I'm now going to go complain about it on r/bulwark.
You all, and you in particular, are the best! You literally keep my sane. Btw just listened to an Adrian Fontes interview, and he is an impressive guy - should have been him on the Dem ticket for governor!
That makes sense. What I’d expect would happen.
Look forward to more.
Thank you Sarah for everything you do at the Bulwark and RAP.
Love your podcast Sarah - hope you take some time to relax!
Looking forward to the results and wrap up episode.

Thanks, that’s very helpful and of course, makes perfect sense.
Overnight (11/13:)
Nevada = BLUE
Arizona = BLUE (at least the U.S. Senate)

Sarah, you guys freaking rule.
A great week for normies; bad week for lunatics and liars. We might actually be okay...
If you haven't heard, Cortez Masto won the D seat for the Senate. YIPPEE!!!!
I'm still a little annoyed with your coverage of Fetterman down the stretch but all's well that ends well.
Just listen to me about Pennsylvania next time! :)
Any Ohioans out there? I’m still scratching my head over Vance’s decisive win…

Thanks. Maybe he’ll “decouple” from Trump. At least that would be something.
yeah, because he is one who should know better, and I am pretty sure he doesn't believe a thing he says...
After listening to the Secret Podcast and this one, let’s all just savor the cloud nine moment with Sarah. :)

😉 /s Thanks, Sarah - have a good weekend!
Thank you for all you do to keep us from becoming despondent about the state of our country
