I love “Metropolitan.” I saw it when it first came out and have re-watched it periodically since then. Some of the dialog is a bit strained and some of the performances can be a bit wooden, but that’s part of the film’s charm. And anyone looking for Christmas presents could do worse than the 6-volume Oxford U. Press set of Jane Austen’s novels that the camera so lovingly lingers on in one scene.
California and Texas have a lot in common, and there are a lot of familial links between the two. Not as crazy a premise as it might seem!
