Trump also likes Scott because Scott has taken the Fifth Amendment under oath more than he has.

Don't give up! We can still do ballot curing TODAY!

Tens of thousands of ballots are in limbo due to technicalities which can be fixed (a missing zip code on a mail ballot envelope, a sloppy signature). The voters need to be notified - that can be done by phone even if you’re out-of-state. These are races for Congress, also down ballot races which are very important.

This link tells you where elections are still in play. Click on a state and you’ll see a list that includes phone banking opportunities.

Lying traitor Carlson calls Cornyn and Cheney "liberals." Trump whines only about the "radical left." Maybe we should just officially, and retroactively change the definitions, so that "conservative" (or right wing) means rabid Republic-hating authoritarian, and "liberal" (or left wing) includes Reagan, Bush 41 and 43, and anyone who favors fiscal responsibility, limited government, a strong defense, and law-and-order for everyone, with no "immunity" for presidents.

Rick is bad news - he has been an advocate of decreasing social security benefits and other social programs. Trump should like him since they both prefer to take care of the top 1%.

There really should be talk about decreasing federal pensions - they all make more than social security retirees - all make more than an average family of four - why? Generals and Congress folk should know how to save for retirement.

Congress is telling the social security retiree that they need to save for retirement and work longer - but the feds can retire at 55 and earn more than a family of four. Great leaders?

But we have billions to deport immigrants and to give to Musk and Bezos. And Murdock keeps telling us how Trump is our savior. Is there any wonder why the media only has 32% of the country interested in their BS?

In my opinion the name of the person controlling the Senate is immaterial so long as the actual control remains in the White House. T. Rump will not have it any other way and will accomplish that goal by any means necessary. YMMV.

Interesting that DJT’s favorite in the Senate is

an American Firster, and also a grifter. Lest we forget Scott is the guy who swindled > 1 billion

from Medicare. What baffles me to this day is that he still won election in a state with such a huge population of seniors.

Not happy that the Bulwark thinks "trump access" articles are a benefit. Especially since they are filled with anon quotes.

Hate to see this site go in the direction of Politico and Axios.

John-o has been waiting for this moment for all of his career. Too bad, so sad Senator Thune. Can't go anywhere new without your shinebox son.

The whole notion that there are enough "institutionalists" in the Republican Senate to deny Trump anything he demands is pretty bizarre. Trump is satisfied that whoever becomes majority leader they will do his bidding because none of them could withstand his wrath. I think the problem with Scott is that he may have to high a profile within MAGA and Trump might prefer someone who is compliant but also not draw attention away from Trump. Cronyn and Thune are about as bland as McConnell but certainly more committed to Trump.

So the reality is that Trump doesn't care which of the toads gets picked they are all his creatures and dependent upon his support and not the other way around.

How come God Emperor trump doesn’t just command his captured senate to do as he says?

Anybody putting faith in these literal nincompoops is deluding themselves.

If the Senate Republicans abdicate their constitutional responsibility to advise and consent on presidential appointments, Elon Musk should start his cost-cutting efforts there. After all, if they aren’t going to do their jobs, there is no reason for them to be on the public payroll. Send them home and force them to live with consequences of their obsequiousness.

"...And they don’t like Trump telling them to get their shine box.” LOL

Oh but, they WILL get their shine box. It's too late to refuse Dear Leader now.

We know that the House will be lap dogs for Trump, but perhaps the Senate might resent Trump throwing his weight around excessively. They will need to vote for all of Trump's nominees and rubber stamp any policies he wants, but I expect they are chafing at MAGA trolls already trying to put their thumb on the scale. Hard to feel sorry for them - I hope their next four years are absolutely miserable and they kick themselves for not doing the right thing when they could have expunged Trump from their party after January 6.

The Senate are lap dogs too. No evidence they won't fall in line.

You have hit on something. The resistance shouldn't focus on Trump, they should focus on the Senators. These guys have big egos, too.
