Thanks for this interview. I grew up hearing from my parents how great Will Rogers was. One person I thought of while listening was Mark Russell.

Will Rogers was a tremendous human being, period. So glad to see this new biography being published. Perhaps it will create a renewed broader appreciation of his importance to the USA in the early 20th century.

Visit the Rogers museum in Claremore, OK.

We have a world-class museum here in Oklahoma dedicated to Will Rogers. He was a rock star!

There's a Trumpy connection to Will Rogers. During DJT's burgeoning affair with Marla Maples, Marla was cast in the featured role of "Ziegfeld's Favorite" in Broadway's "The Will Rogers Follies." Marla's opening blowout event was held at The Plaza. Their private drama unfolded backstage where The Don was a regular. My teenage daughter was in the show; she and Marla became close, and their friendship outlasted the run of the play. My daughter had learned Western Roping from the musical's internationally famous roping star, and went on to play The Roper herself in three regional productions AND she roped at rodeos.
