There is nothing conservative position of the TAKG wing of SCOTUS. I propose they see Biden persecuting Yrump, as in this quote from Alito answering Sauer:

Alito:

“Of course, all right, now if an incumbent who loses a very close, hotly contested election knows that a real possibility after leaving office is not that the president is gonna be able to go off into a peaceful retirement, but that the president may be criminally prosecuted by a bitter political opponent, will that not lead us into a cycle that destabilizes the functioning of our country as a democracy?”

I just got around to watching this. What a great conversation. It beats all of the analysis that I watched on MSNBC. This is why I’m a bulwark member. Keep it up! Thanks Mona!

I hope George is right but doubt it. What i heard suggests that a 5 to 4 majority is going to provide Donald his get out of jail free card. Their stated concerns about immunity and how it may affect future presidencies comes across to me as friviilous arguments in freshman philosophy

They aren’t going to give him immunity. They were never going to give him immunity.

And he isn’t indicted for official acts anyway.

Yesterday was a sad day for our Democracy and the reputation of the Supreme Court under

Chief Justice Roberts and his 4 colleagues Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh

Who have turned their backs on their responsibility to uphold the Constitution while excusing the actions of Trump. Chief Justices John Marshall, Earl Warren and Warren Burger are crying for their beloved court while celebrating Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, Amy Coney Barrett, Ketanji Brown

who honored the words of Marshall "It is emphatically the province and duty of the judicial department to say what the law is.” Trump violated the Constitution, the rule of law and should be held accountable!

I feel like Gregg listened to a completely different case than I heard today. The DC circuit already did what Gregg suggested, and SCOTUS, Roberts in particular said it today: took this case because the DC Circuit said there were no official acts. So it seems like they aren't going to do the same thing as the DC circuit.

It's also very interesting that this SCOTUS has gone hard at Biden while still being so very solicitous of ex-president Trump. I'm so depressed!

Don’t be. Trump isn’t indicted for official acts.

He needs blanket immunity, which he will never ever ever get.
